Mairimashita! Iruma-kun Chapter 294 Spoiler
Boy, if I had expected anything, but not this.
Narnia turns out to be Henry in disguise who is undercover. That's why he's been watching Iruma so closely. And he's apparently so good at his role that even Baal didn't notice, or did he, and he was just playing along ?
It seems to me that we've been focusing a lot on Narnia in the last few chapters, but Baal is also on this Deviculum and pursuing his plans. We haven't seen him since he arrived. Not to mention that his little helper is guaranteed to be here too, Kirio is obsessed with meeting Iruma again. And that in a place like the lost Lounge. A single, private place full of high-ranking demons, perfect for being sealed off with a barrier, and full of magical tool dolls.
Is it only me who finds this critical ?
But that's not all. Narnia is on this Deviculum, disguised as Fenrir. Fenrir, the wolf from Norse mythology. And the scales fell from the eyes, how could I have missed it? After all, Kalego's Cerberus is also a mythical canine.
Narnia takes a good noseful of Iruma, and Iruma seems to be uncomfortable with it, as I interpret the scene. But does Iruma only find it unpleasant, or does his sense of danger kick in ? In any case, Iruma has noticed something, because he asks Fenrir/Narnia if he has just done something, but Fenrir/Narnia dodges his question.
And when his sense have reacted, does he ignore it, simply because he trusts more in Ameri's word, who introduced Fenrir as an excellent SD ? Also i don't see any possibility that Narnia overlooked that Iruma is a human. Not with his sense of smell and as close as he was standing to Iruma.
(And boy, what's wrong with his neck/back ?)
I would also like to know if Fenrir really exists. Ameri spoke of him as if she knew him better. Is Fenrir real or just a role that Narnia often uses to go undercover ? And if Fenrir exists, where is he?
Nishi Sensei played me like a fiddle, I didn't expect that. I feel like we're sitting on a bomb that's about to go off, always keeping in mind that this Deviculum will later be known as "The 13th of Betrayal" and we're on the verge of chapter 300.
I don't know how others see it, but for me big round numbers in chapters mean big events. Not always, but quite often, and I'm excited to see what happens next.

MUSICAL FESTIVAL ( JINYOUNG & SANGHYUN )
as mentioned in the previous mission, the two models would have been working on their songs at the moment but for ooc reference, here were the songs that were chosen to perform for the musical festival ( which is revealed to be the BUSAN INTERNATIONAL MUSICAL FESTIVAL ).
KIM JINYOUNG: “wenn ich dein spiegel wär” ( elisabeth ) & “strangers like me” ( tarzan )
LIM SANGHYUN: “falling slowly” ( once ) & “dreaming” ( dream high )
the musical festival will be held from NOVEMBER 15-17 and is considered an event to help bring awareness to musicals. JINYOUNG and SANGHYUN will be performing on NOVEMBER 15 and earlier that day, they will be having a joint interview panel with the press as they promote the event and answer questions regarding their experiences as musical actors, differences between performing on stage as an idol ( eg. lgc spring boys ) vs performing on stage as a musical actor, etc. the festival will then be broadcasted nationwide on NOVEMBER 25 through KBS1.
both JINYOUNG and SANGHYUN are invited to stay for the remaining days to watch the rest of the festivities, but it is not mandatory. if they choose to do this, they will be staying in one of the hotels nearby with one of the managers.
CITY GUIDE TOUR ( UPDATE )
“the videos that all of you filmed will be released in the next couple of weeks. as a thank you gift from VOGUE PARIS, they are inviting all of you to PARIS. however, since everyone is busy with different gigs and obligations, we’ve decided that it will happen early next year. but since we have a few more months until then, you can take this time to prepare yourself for the PARIS trip amidst all of the schedules or even brush up on your french, but the latter is completely optional.” JINHO teased, knowing he only said such words to have someone help him navigate through the city when the time would come.
as an early warning and reminder, if your muse is eligible for this term’s NOTORIETY TIERS, do note that if you do claim a gig that takes up a lot of the muse’s time ( eg. acting gigs, variety shows as a recurring/fixed cast member ) you will NOT be able to join the rest of the MODELS to PARIS in Q1.
listed below are when the videos will be posted on VOGUE FRANCE’s youtube channel:
OCTOBER 11: DAEHANG-NO ( JINYOUNG )
OCTOBER 18: EDAE ( HYUNHEE & JIAH )
OCTOBER 25: CARTOON STREET/ZAEMIRO ( JISOO & SANGHYUN )
NOVEMBER 1: DONGDAEMUN ( SEUNGHYUN & JINSEO )
LGC AGENCY x KOREA CINEMA TODAY MAGAZINE COLLABORATION
“for the past few years, magazines usually approach LGC AGENCY near the end of the year for opportunities to feature all of our ACTORS and MODELS. for this year, it’ll be a special one in that KOREA CINEMA TODAY wanted to create a magazine spread featuring some of the highest-grossing domestic films in south korea and what better way than to combine the strengths that the ACTORS and MODELS have?” JINHO suggested before he let DONGHA offer the box to each of the MODELS.
JINHO continued on while explaining the details, “earlier the ACTORS picked a FILM assigned to them so on our end, all of you will be picking from the box randomly which group you will be joining. there will be seven groups, with each of them having ONE model and TWO or THREE actors. starting from today and until the end of NOVEMBER, each group will be having their own photoshoot inspired by the film chosen along with reenacting and recording some of the most iconic scenes from the movies, which will be posted on lgc’s youtube channel.”
here are the team arrangements and their assigned films ( listed in parenthesis is when the film was released ):
A WEREWOLF BOY ( 2012 ) – BAE HEEJIN, KIM JINSEO, PARK SUJIN
EXIT ( 2019 ) – AHN YEIN, KIM JINYOUNG, NAM GYURI
EXTREME JOB ( 2019 ) – HAN SEUNGHYUN, JO EUNWOO, KIM CHERRY
MIRACLE IN CELL NO. 7 ( 2013 ) – CHO MINKYU, HAN HYUNHEE, MOON JINO
PARASITE ( 2019 ) – BAE SOJIN, LIM SANGHYUN, SHIN JIEUN
SUNNY ( 2011 ) – BAEK SEONA, MOON JIAH, YANG AERI
TRAIN TO BUSAN ( 2016 ) – HAN JISOO, HAN ROWON, LEE HYUNSOO, YOO HAEMIN
since some of the MODELS have experience with creative direction, they will take on the leader role during the photoshoots. this means that they’ll have some control with how the photoshoot should look like ( along with outfits for everyone involved and setting ideas ) but a lot of the final say will go to the main creative director who works for KOREA CINEMA TODAY. to help with the models, any ACTORS who have over 230 MODELING at the time of this post can contribute to the group’s photoshoot aspect. for locations, due to everyone’s busy schedules, they will have to be done in places that are within close distance and can complete the photoshoot and filming in 1-2 days.
on the other hand, all of the ACTORS in each of the groups will be sharing the leader role during the filming of the iconic scenes ( around 2-4 scenes, depending on how long each scene is ). any MODELS who have over 230 ACTING at the time of this post can contribute to the scenes selected for the video. these videos will last around 15 minutes each and the group will discuss which scenes they would want to reenact ( they will also be provided a copy of the movie’s original script, so that they know the exact lines and details when filming ).
there will also be some of the LGC staff members recording the behind the scene moments with this collaboration and posted on LGC’s youtube channel ( which will be scheduled later on after the magazine spread and videos have been released ). because of this, no one who has a PERSONAL CHANNEL may take behind the scene clips of this experience.
the magazine will be released on JANUARY 1 for the JANUARY 2025 issue and the videos will be released starting from JANUARY 1-7. if you wish to mention this gig in a monthly sns post or fansite, you can do so during JANUARY.
1000 NOTORIETY REWARD ( JINSEO & SANGHYUN )
starting OCTOBER it will be announced ic that JINSEO has accepted a brand ambassadorship for ACNE STUDIOS and his newly appointed title will be “genius kim”! there will be no requirements for this nor do you have to confirm the renewal, so it will be a permanent contract and will take up one of the modeling contract spots.
as for SANGHYUN, it will be announced in the same month that he will be having his own SOLO FANMEETING TOUR in SEOUL, TOKYO, and SINGAPORE and will be known in those cities’ countries. the fanmeeting tour will start in SEOUL on DECEMBER 7, TOKYO on DECEMBER 14, and SINGAPORE on DECEMBER 21. in addition to that, his new title will be “dancing machine”!

So... this string of events happened while being in or close to Saint Denis:
While out hunting, a random encounter occured. A man in need of a doctor, asking me for help. Playing on High Honor, I agreed so I scooped him up, placed him on Winter (my horse) and rushed towards town to help the poor guy.
Upon entering Saint Denis - the road was clear at first - an NPC plopped up out of nowhere, right in front of me and being full speed, I wasn't able to avoid him ran him over with my horse; I lost some honor and got charged for murder. Regardless, I still tried to save the guy I had with me so I pressed on and finally arrived at the doctor's office.
That was when the man on the back of my horse decided "welp, now's a good time" and succumbed to his wounds, which made me lose even more honor (I'm still not sure if that was connected to him dying or if I accidentally pissed off another NPC)
Later on I went to the trapper in SD to sell my pelts and skins. I kept on hearing someone mocking me but didn't pay any mind to it.
Turned out the person talking smack was a Lemoyne raider. I ignored him since I didn't want to stir up any trouble and simply mounted my horse. That's when three of the Lemoyne idiots jumped me (don't know where the other two came from all of a sudden), pulled me off my horse and proceeded to beat me up.
I remained the last one standing in this brawl but... oh boy, what a day that was in and around Saint Denis 😂

OK I'm awake and back on the train of this AU.
Yamato explains his plan to Vice once the douji is under strict commands, and some training with him and the other SDS begins, each teaching him their noh. Vice decides that, while he hates being used by Yamato, he'll take these powers. He'll learn them and kill Dunstan, sure... but he'll kill Yamato when it's done and live as a free killing machine.
But as he learns their noh, he learns more about each of the sins, their masters, the things that make them angry or make them laugh. He starts seeing them less as pawns, unconsciously. Like in the books, he starts to learn.
Somewhere else, Ultimo has woken up. He's seen the innocent care and love Kei has for his family. He decides he's changed, and asks for Kei to be his master until he finds Yamato, so he can heal and defend himself against Vice.
Kei thinks it's weird, but at the urging of his granny--who thinks the little doll-boy is just SO sweet and how Kei never had a kid of his own--agrees. He doesn't like the memories he gets.
Regula finds them, Eco thinks it's a wonderful turn of events, that Vice's master has come around and changed so much that Ultimo accepts him. Eco urges Kei not to focus on his past, but on his future, on what good he can do in the future. They're brought to the other Perfections and most are rightfully skeptical, especially Musashi, but Machi and her husband--both criminals in their own right--accept the change instantly. Pardonner and his master, too, considering their respective virtue.
Kei's niece comes from across the sea. Ultimo is posed as a recently adopted cousin to Kia. And Kia decides she doesn't like how bubbly the kid is. She's every bit the same she was before, reclusive and broken. Kei knows this, and wants to help her. And part of that, he thinks, is keeping her away from the doji secret.
She still runs in to Mizho and Paresse, stealing from a store. She and Mizho hit it off as friends after Mizho witnesses her go batshit. She's introduced to Yamato and Vice as if they're members of a street gang, not the ultimate killing machine and his master.
She finds herself sneaking out more often to see them. You can take the girl out of the evil, but you can't take the evil out of the girl.
Kei has a confrontation with Jealousy. Iruma still wants Ultimo, and Kei is forced to fight. Iruma's jealousy and anger at the former emperor comes out in full force. But Kei and Ultimo still win. Iruma is still killed in the battle, by Jealousy's hand.
Rune witnesses the fight, but without Yamato he has no attachment to what's happening and flees. The envy in his heart isn't any less, though. And Jealousy is still attracted to it, still bonds with him.
And Rune is shocked to find that Yamato has become Vice's master after receiving the memories, but it means he gets to be closer to Yamato, right?
...right?
Less than a dayblater, Yamato discovers he hasn't given Vice good enough restrictions, hadn't even thought about him going rogue and attacking the good douji. And he does just that. The scene at the hospital still happens. Shakuji and Eco still die. He boasts and laughs about having corrupted Yamato and made him evil, even if it isn't entirely true.
Yamato is angry, but understands why Vice has done it. He calls a meeting and everyone gathers... and Rune is there. And Rune sees how close Yamato has gotten to Mizho and Paresse and Fusataro and Rage. Rune can sense the affection Paresse has for Yamato. And Rune's envy deepens even further.
Yamato admits that he knows a truce with the Six Perfections is a near impossibility, and honestly asks for the advice of the sins and their masters. What are the best ways to bring out their noh so that Vice can learn them?
And that is unanimously answered with fight them. Make them desperate to use their noh to the best ability. And Yamato, now a street kid and once a bandit king, nods and agrees.
Kia witnesses all of this, having snuck out and is hiding and watching, though Jealousy knows she's there. Upon the meeting ending, Desir stumbles upon her by accident and warns her, playfully, that little bunnies like her should stay in their own dens.
But of course she doesn't listen. Her best friends are apparently part of some secret war, and her uncle and the weird cousin are apparently their arch enemy and they want to get some kind of power from them.
In the following days, Musashi gathers the girls and they make their new pledges. Yamato's bandages come off and he's left with wicked scars. He blames it on a knife fight, puffing his chest out and acting all cool to his friends. It's unfortunate that they all already know through Regula's Engrave that he's Vice's master now.
In that vein, it's Regula and Sayama--following Eco's funeral--that tell Ultimo and Kei that Yamato is Vice's master. And Ultimo is devastated. It can't be true, he knows it can't! He runs off to find Vice... and finds him. Finds him and Yamato fighting Service.
Manipulating Service into using his powers, then immediately copying what they just saw to use it against them. In a panic, Ultimo freezes time. He tries to talk to Yamato, who is the only one he hasn't frozen.
Yamato does feel bad. He knows he's betrayed Ultimo, and he does apologize... for copying his noh and giving it to Vice. But he has a job to do, and a Doctor to kill. He uses Vice to unfreeze time and back hand Ultimo across the city.
Ultimo is hurt, deeply. He's angry. He never should have trusted a bandit. He limps back home to Kei and Kia and granny, and starts making a plan to properly punish Yamato for what he's done.
#aaaand here's where i go to CC's dms cause i wanna talk about Kia's further impact and certain Things before i write further because#ideas#are forming#switched places au

Newest Jeff FM with Tana #114 - Part 1
-Tana said she’s going back to Hawaii in 8 days. They filmed the pod last week so is she spending Thanksgiving with this new guy? She said she’s going back for peace. I wonder when the Italy trip was pushed because Brooke said the thing about her being gone until the 7th about a week ago.
-She’s drinking a Happy Dad. She said she feels like she fell in love with the Hawaiian guy she just met (talking in with a soft voice). Jeff’s acting jealous and said he commented on her tiktok to give the people what they want and she said she hated it. But then made a TikTok replying to it. That’s she’s since deleted. (It’s giving whiplash)
-around 10:00 she said someone asked her if they sleep together then describes what she thinks sex with Jeff would be like. Steven asked if he slept with anyone while he had his eye messed up after the accident and he said yeah. She said Jeff is going to cut this and he said no he’s not cutting anything anymore. (Hasn’t he said before he was celibate for like a year after his accident because he was so depressed and self conscious?)
-she said she lost an SD card for a brand deal that was worth $100k! The fact that companies are so desperate they’ll have her as a spokesperson while so many of us make so little doing actual jobs is annoying
-She said people tell her she’s thriving when she’s sober but she’s miserable the whole time. And if she’s sober at a social event she wants to get out of there.
-He said he went to Friendsgiving since he didn’t go to Halloween where everyone was drunk but this was worse as far as the drinking.
-He said he had fun for the first 20 minutes he was there. She said then he was there for hours with her. Then he brought up his comment about “black, gay friend”. She said she left it up on purpose and didn’t care what people would say about it (yikes)
-He said whenever Imari and Tana are wasted and gang up on him, saying they need stuff he just gives them his credit card. Wtf?!! They aren’t his kids. She suggested they get pedicures on the pod but they didn’t.
-Some billionaire boy toy of Tana’s ran in the marathon too and Tana made a group chat for them (gc = Tana, Jeff, rich guy). He brought Jeff to his hotel room and gave him some supplements for the race that helped. Jeff said he didn’t stay in the city, he stayed in Staten Island (surprised to hear that). I’m guessing this was only for the day of the race though. We’ve seen how he’ll do whatever possible to spend the least amount of time with his parents as he can
-Around 23:00 in the group chat I forget but probably he said “whoever does better in the race gets to bang Tana”. Then Jeff did better and wrote for her to get ready for him. Jesus 🤢 earlier he said “I been coulda had that shit“ referring to Tana. Crude way to put it but he’s right. If he wanted to sleep with her he would’ve a year ago.
-she said at the start that he turned into a character because he was down or moody before they filmed and was different once filming started
-at 26:36 and he’s talking about the first time he had sex since his accident and how he kept thinking about his eye. Steven asked if his eye throbbed and he said yes.
He just said he powered through and now he’s doing good. No time frame but that could’ve been P.
-Around 27:00 they’re talking about how Tana says the online edits of them are getting out of control. He saw them talk about it on Cancelled.
-Steven asked if Jeff got drunk would he hit on Tana and Jeff said maybe. Tana said “give him an Ambien in here and he would.” So how messed up does he get on Ambien?
-Said he just filmed Charlotte’s pod (DeAlessio I’m guessing). He’s talking about ketamine therapy and how he doesn’t want to do it. Charlotte said she tried MDMA therapy. He really isn’t interested in these new alternate ways. Ketamine therapy isn’t exactly like doing k like the drug right? That’s what he’s thinking and why he’s against it but couldn’t he just research that?
-At 33:00 Tana said she’s doing horribly and that’s why she went to Hawaii. Said she’s working on a book and wants to self sabotage herself by calling people out and they’ll hate her (yeah right 🙄). She wants to get so much hate it’ll force her to retire and leave this career (as if she’d ever leave. She’s too attention obsessed.
-She really sounds very over LA and is in a down mood when talking about her life for the last ten years there. At 35:37 she said that’s why she likes Hawaii and NY. Jeff said he thinks that’s why he’s feeling good because he’s been around his real friends and family in NY (barely his family, come on now). She says she has great real friends (I question that because her main friends are sketchy AF but she doesn’t know any better I guess).
-At 35:40 Oscar either says “when you were going to do The Simple Life thing” or “when you do…” please don’t let Kentucky still happen omg. Jeff said in his live that they’re going to do two series coming up. anons listen and write in what you hear him say
-She said she’s so grateful for the Jeff friend group. 36:40 said Jeff is a part of her book because he signifies (her word) her finding passion again in her life. Give me a break, he treats her like shit
-37:36 Jeff says people say he has worse friends now and don’t like them but they saved him and brought him out of a hole. Brought his passion back (he literally just is rude to them all the time so I don’t see that as passion). He’s very happy with everyone in his life right now. She appreciates them because they see her for her and still like/love her. (Maybe the boys do but Jeff doesn’t at all).
-Oscar asked if they want to read Reddit hate comments but they didn’t
-38:58 Jeff: “I just try to be as like honest as possible.”

today i learned that i hate the fact that every pseudo-legendary pokemon is found like super late into the game.

desert rose — yang jeongin.
↪ “ Because love and a red rose could never be truly hid. ”
— “ You’d have never thought that one incident would’ve enlightened you of how much in love you were with your childhood best friend, but it turns out to be more of a problem when you’re threatened with a life-ending disease with no cure whatsoever. Or so you thought. ”
pairing: jeongin x reader
genre: hanahaki au; fluff, angst with a happy ending.
⇥ warnings: hanahaki disease, mentions of blood (not very graphic but enough that it’s tagged), lots of angst, also in this world the hanahaki surgery isn’t discovered yet, because it’s a fairly recent discovery, also y/n’s dad is nowhere mentioned in this fic idk take it as you like but i imagined him to pass away when y/n was 12 for some reason :((, please do not read if you triggered by topics of death or blood or disease! These themes will be prevalent though not in super explicit detail, they are still there. If I missed a warning, let me know. <3
word count: 11.09 K
type: long one-shot.
⇥ disclaimer: this fiction does not represent the activities of the real Yang Jeongin, nor is associated with JYPE in any form. Events are pure fiction. ♡
part of: the @bystay skznta event, written for @stayndays !!
song: inspired from Desert Rose by Lolo Zouaï <3 No relation to the fic but it did inspire the ~vibes~.
↯ note: I’m gonna be honest this tired me out so much that I’m glad I finished it, it took me longer than I expected and it got longer than I expected, but nonetheless, here you go shayna! Hi!! Jeongin’s eyes are really pretty.
The first time you'd made this miniscule observation was during your summer vacation road trip when the sun shined a tad bit overly bright, and Jeongin’s umbrella had a hole in it. The exact details of how it ended up torn don’t matter, but the way Jeongin’s eyes seemed to shimmer in the harsh noon sun almost made it seem worth it.
You remember it clearly — He’d smiled brightly when his eyes met yours, eyes crinkling into tiny little half-moons before his expression turned neutral. At that moment, you were lost into the abyss that was his midnight black orbs. They seemed to hold glimmering stars in them, ones that outshone the specks of white in the night sky.
Looking back, you didn’t think of it much, opting to shake your head off it’s daze before running to where Jeongin stood, throwing a bottle of water into his backpack and laughing at some corny jokes the rest of the group cracked.
Jeongin was a friend — a good friend. In fact, you could call him your best friend, though it had never been verbalized. You couldn’t remember exactly when or how you’d gotten closer to him — it just happened, like everything important in this world did. Like how Jeongin says “It was fate, Y/N, fate” in that old-man-philosopher voice to get you to laugh (Of course it would never work, but you’d still laugh, because anything to see him give you that bright, toothy grin and that little scrunch of his nose in acknowledgement).
The memory of how it all started is as clear as the sky, as pure as the pigment of a rose.
“Don’t stray too far away, alright? Meet me back here in two hours.” The instructor screams, and all the students chime in with a collective “Yes, ma’am!”.
“Good, now go collect your flowers.”
A flower-picking expedition isn’t a common event in a school field trip, at least in your school. You’re more used to the normal visits to the ice cream factory, or the butterfly park (which, to be fair, had some pretty flowers, if only you could pick them) or another affiliated school. Nevertheless, you don’t complain, because the prospect of your school giving you a chance to collect all the pretty flowers you could spot here had you on top of the clouds.
You’re allowed to go alone or in groups of two, and of course, Jeongin has you by the arm the moment your teacher had screamed “Disperse!” at the top of her lungs (P.E teachers had a thing for screaming, apparently). Ignoring the teasing glances the other boys made towards the both of you, you set sail on your path, scanning all the bushes for any wild and unique flowers you could find.
“Oh look, there’s one!” You pointed out after a good four-minute-walk, almost stumbling in your one-inch-too-tight-shoes and ignoring Jeongin’s giggle at your antics. You beckoned him over to where you were standing and he obliged, tucking his sweater paws into his pockets before walking over to where you were staring at the pretty flower.
So, flowers. They’d always fascinated you. You’d developed said fascination ever since you were six. Something about the sheer way the petals were arranged, the various ranges of coloring — vivid, gradient, muted — the beauty of something so delicate and intricate always drew you in. You found yourself examining a flower for hours, and surprisingly, you never grew tired of it. They’d helped you through a lot when you felt particularly down, too. Perfect distraction — snuggling against Jeongin’s arm and playing with the flower he’d always pick out for every visit, surrounded by calming; almost numbing silence along with the sound of his steady breathing, maybe sometimes his heartbeat too when he’d get overly affectionate. Flowers in a way, in every way, were your escape. You loved them.
“Hmmm.” Jeongin hummed over the sounds of the leaves susurrating and rustling on the ground, the wind enveloping you like a cold, yet oddly comfortable blanket. He fixed his round glasses over his nose, quickly flipping through his encyclopedia. No one really questioned him as to why he carried it wherever he went — but just like you, he had a vivid fascination for flowers too. It was something the both of you fit like a glove on, and you were beyond grateful to meet someone who could click with you so well.
“This is wolfsbane, we can’t pick it.” He said, shaking his head. “It’s poisonous, the whole plant is.”
“Oh…” You pouted, staring at the flower once more. You took in the sight of lush, violet petals, the way they wrapped around the centre and had almost no smell.
“Hey.” He touched your hand worriedly. “You didn’t touch them, right?”
“No, I didn’t. I know better than to touch plants without knowing what they are.”
“Good.” There you could see it again. That lovely, bright smile, one more of relief this time. When you looked into his eyes, you seemed lost — you could capture every flutter of his lashes against his cheeks, count every lustrous star that was laid in his eyes. “That’s good, the poison can be absorbed easily through your skin.”
“Yeah.” You let yourself smile at him, hands dropping down to fiddle with the hem of your frock.
“Come on, I wanna get some shots for my book. Plus some flowers.” Pulling at your hand, he led you amidst the varying degrees of green and the damp smell of grass for a good distance, before halting in front of a bush. You knew what he’s referencing to by ‘shots’. The camera that hangs around his back, ready to immortalize the memory into his SD card, or rather make a polaroid (or a painting, if he’s being artistic) and tape it to his notebook along with the pressed flower.
“Look!”
Trip a step back, and you yelp at the sudden intrusion to your pace, pouting at Jeongin before looking in the direction he had his eyes fixated on. “Roses.” You giggle, kneeling in front of the bush and hissing when you feel the damp coldness of the grassy floor seep into your knees. “They’re pretty.”
You can barely hear the sound of students walking past you — the moment seems almost captivating — nothing heard, nothing felt except the whirring of the wind, and the fresh smell of various plants mixed together, it carries.
This part of the garden seems particularly shady and cool, and some of the roses haven’t bloomed yet. A few rosebuds, a few half-bloomed roses, and two fully bloomed, deep red roses, sitting nicely against the green foliage.
Jeongin kneels before you, and you turn to smile at him, chortling at the way his glasses are about to fall over his nose again. You ruffle his black hair gently before fixing the glasses up his nose.
“You might wanna get a chain attached to that thing. You know those strings that go around your neck and to your glasses to hold them in place?”
Jeongin chuckles. “It’s alright. I don’t like my glasses anyways.”
“Whyyy…?” You whine, poking his arm playfully before directing your focus back on the rose. “You look so adorable with them.”
Your friend feels a smile tug at his lips, leaning in to pinch your cheeks lightly. “You’re adorable.” He says, before focusing on the rose, (thankfully) oblivious to the way your cheeks feel warm after his action.
“Here, let me pick them out and then we can press them into our journals.” Yes. The both of you have matching journals, owing to your near obsession with flowers. You oft share them with each other and get fascinated by how the other views the flower, how they delicately craft words into how the little gift of nature meant to them. It’s a heartwarming tradition — one of the main reasons you follow it till date.
Jeongin pulls out a pair of scissors from his satchel, and albeit with a lot of force (and the adorable nose scrunch™, manages to cut off a decent amount of stem with the fully bloomed flower, carefully bringing it to his nose to smell it before doing the same to the other one. And all the while, you silently watch.
“Here, this one is more fresh.” It’s so surprising how he can just say that by looking at the flower. Then again, you know him better than anyone, so it’s not surprising at all. He looks at you with dreamy, fluttering eyes and that precious smile on his face, his hair falling perfectly on his forehead. You want to reach out and fix the stray hairs back into position, but you hold back, swallowing the lump in your throat when you look into his pretty, pretty eyes. Trying your damnedest to not get mesmerized, lost in them once again.
It doesn’t seem like a very, very special moment. And to you at that time, it wasn’t special. You simply ignored the heat that crept up your face at his silent gesture, nodding sporadically and ignoring the way you tensed up more when your fingers touched, barely.
Your heart suddenly thumped against your chest with renewed vigour, and you could tell Jeongin was close to noticing it too.
“T-thank you, that's very sweet.” Fixing the frills of your frock, you smooth them over before looking further and deeper into the garden.
“Lend me a hand, please.”
You once again, ignore the way your heart flutters at his statement, silently extending your hand and covering up your sudden emotion with a smile. His hand feels soft, warm in your hold, fingertips slightly rough from when he used to play the violin. You like it, though.
“Here.” He places the rose carefully in your palm, making sure no thorns prick the delicate skin of your palm, and you can’t help but smile at the tiny reassurance. A nod of approval and you tuck the flower away neatly into your satchel, almost like a valuable present he’d given you, oblivious to the way Jeongin’s eyes twinkled at your action, his smile beaming.
My god, who would’ve known this flower could’ve brought you so, so much trouble?
It had started simple, almost unnoticeable. Just little glances towards Jeongin when he’d come over to watch a movie, getting lost in the way his hair looked exceptionally soft to touch, silently drifting off into space as you admired him from the backseat during class — sure, you were supposed to be focusing on the lesson and taking notes, but something about the way the rim of Jeongin’s sunglasses caught the sunlight and created a lens flare effect was breathtaking to watch.
That, combined with his beauty, his personality. It was too much, too much to handle.
You found yourself waiting to get a glimpse of him, even a tiny glance of his smile would be enough to make your day — to make your heart flutter.
He was pretty.
You suppose it’s because being Jeongin’s best friend meant you already knew about the kind and empathetic man he was — but for the love of god, you could not stop your heart from fluttering when you heard his name, let alone looked at him and his mind-numbingly pretty smile, his dazzling eyes that always seemed to keep you off the ground.
Oh my, was this love?
You didn’t believe it. You didn’t agree, couldn’t accept that this was love. Maybe it was just your way of showing appreciation for him, for everything he’d done for you? Yes. That was probably it.
Love wasn’t something you’d experienced — how could you jump to the conclusion?
But you couldn’t pin the feeling you were feeling to another word — though you were desperate. The way your heart beat faster around him, the way you started noticing all the tiny details that made you fall for him even more, and for what? Just because he happened to give you a fresher, more lusciously colored rose after choosing them on his own?
Jeongin had noticed it too — it was hard not to when you’d start fiddling with your thumbs, twirling your hair, and the way heat would rush to your face when he did as little as smile at you — you’d fallen for him — and while he was ever-the-oblivious to realise the implications of your actions, he did know that something was wrong.
“Y/N, are you alright?” Jeongin asks rather dully, seeming kind of worried about your current state. You’re resting your head against his lap, but Jeongin can feel the warmth of your cheek through the thin material of his shorts — and not the regular kind. The kind of heat one would radiate when they’d either been overly flustered. Or possibly a fever.
He rests a single palm against your cheek and your eyes flutter shut, and there it is again. The butterflies in your stomach, the fuzzies in your head, and the tingling that shot up to your fingertips. “Are you sick? Is that why you’re oddly quiet today? You haven’t said or eaten anything.”
“Ah, no, I’m alright.” You try to hide the dizziness in your voice, snuggling in his hold before fluttering your eyes close. Thankfully, Jeongin doesn’t question it.
“Alright, we won’t talk about it if you don’t want to.” Even though you aren’t facing him right now, you can feel him smile in melancholy.
“Hey Y/N?”
“Yes?”
“You know I’m here for you, right?”
Oh, you knew.
Sometimes you wish you didn’t — maybe that would’ve prevented it from ending this way.
It’s such a common scenario — in movies, in books, in media. Two best friends falling in love with each other, confessing their love in the warm and intimate setting of the night sky, over gentle touches and lingering kisses. You’ve always had an attachment to those kinds of movies or books — because for you, that kind of love was special in it’s own way.
Those little ways the lead characters had of showing each other their undying love, those subtle acts were so special, so special in their own way. Those books had shown you how heartwarming, how vulnerable yet rigid, strong that relationship could be. It was such a pretty world to explore, to fantasize. You kind of felt that you and Jeongin were the protagonists of those books, those movies.
Except, you had no happy ending.
The books failed to show how painful it was to swallow, to digest the fact that you could be nothing more than friends. Sure, there had been some moments where the main leads would be sad, but it was nothing compared to this, this suffocation in your chest that slowly built up, day by day, minute by minute, second by second.
It was hard.
The first prick in your chest hadn’t been entirely painful. It was barely noticeable even. Simply a tiny jolt of pain when you bent forward to grab your books from your locker. It had only been a slight jab, like when you’d accidentally poke yourself in the rib with the edge of your hardcover diary while picking it up. Nothing too hard.
Then came the slight feeling of breathlessness. You found yourself unable to run a full round in P.E (when you could easily do so beforehand), having to stop in between to catch your breath. You figured it could’ve been your dust allergy because the P.E room wasn’t cleaned that often, so it made sense. Somewhat. Still sceptical, but nonetheless, you covered up your random outbursts of coughs with any and every excuse you could find when your parents questioned you about it.
It was hard, but you figured it was just a matter of winter passing by, and soon you’d be alright.
Would you, though? You couldn’t bring yourself to accept that there was in fact something wrong happening to you, pushing behind that feeling of paranoia every time with a smile on your face and a hold of your breath, wishing for the pain to ebb away.
Who would’ve thought that a sudden infatuation would have led to your demise?
Jeongin can hear the noises.
Those loud, dragged out wisps of air that you borderline struggle to take in and expel out, Jeongin can hear them.
He can feel your struggle. It’s not easy for him to look at you like this, curled up into a ball and ignoring the rampant burn in your chest. The movie isn’t even the main focus right now. Jeongin has something to say, and he’s had enough of watching you struggle. He’s rather here to persuade you to go to the fucking doctor, and get some sort of diagnosis instead of beating around the bush.
Strange. Jeongin feels oddly affectionate today, when usually you’re the one to initiate such gestures. All he wants to do is pull you into his arms and rock you back and forth until you fall asleep, because you seriously seem like you need it.
“Y/N,” he calls, watching you lift your head up from where it’s rested against your knees. You don’t reply, because right now, your throat seems like a barren desert and all you can seem to let out is a croak.
Jeongin sighs and rolls his eyes as if in deep thought, turning on the couch to face you before touching the tops of your cheeks with his hands — they seem overly feverous.
“What’s going on?” He asks sternly.
“What d-do you mean?” You manage to get out, feeling your chest hurt more and more with each syllable that leaves past your lips in a croaked voice. It felt like someone was repeatedly stabbing your chest with the sharp edge of the knife, the burn in your throat and lungs getting too much to handle. You can’t even tear your focus from the fiery sensation to revel in the feeling of Jeongin’s soft palms cupping your cheeks.
“Y/N, you’ve been acting weird ever since the expedition.” Worry is laced throughout his tone, mixed in with a dash of sorrow to give rise to the most heartbreaking sound you’ve ever heard. Though you know otherwise, it almost seems as though Jeongin is disappointed in you.
“You’ve been getting more and more sick—” he raises a hand to stop you from contradicting his statement. You only look at him with mellow eyes, knowing that what he says is right. You’ve been ignoring your health for too long.
You can’t help it, either. While you have an inkling of what might’ve happened, you’re too stubborn to accept it, let along your unrequited love for your best friend, who seems ever-the-oblivious.
“—and you can’t tell me it’s the winter allergy, love. I know you more than that to believe it.”
Shaking your head in dismay, you turn around to get up. You can’t be having this conversation right now, not with the faintest taste of blood lingering at the edge of your throat — you can’t be showing yourself like this in front of him — broken down, vulnerable, confused of your own feelings, having no idea of what you should be doing.
Your mother had pointed it out too, at this point. They suggested going to the doctor, and you outright refused. You didn’t want your suspicion to come to life. It couldn’t- it couldn’t be this way-
“Y/N!”
Jeongin grabs your hands to stop you in your position and turns you around.
And that’s a wrong move.
Your whole chest tightens, and the thorns that stab against your chest has never been more painful. You cry out loudly, only causing them to dig deeper into your skin and almost bleed. Jeongin’s eyes widen in shock at your sudden, unexpected reaction and only tightens his grasp on your hands.
Which again, is a very wrong move, because the following bouts of coughs that take over you shake you up from the core. Jeongin feels blanked out looking at how much you’re suffering right now, so much that he doesn’t feel the wet, yet light flutter on the back of his hand.
When Jeongin snaps back in from his momentary daze, he’s borderline horrified.
He’s convinced, completely certain that there’s nothing more terrifying, heartbreaking, scarring — he could go on and on — than what he just saw. He can almost feel his heart break into a million tiny shards, but he knows that it’s nowhere equivalent to the pain you’re going through.
Well, looks like your suspicion did come to life.
Because what Jeongin sees is, gah, he feels horrified. There’s blood dripping down your lip, staining the skin below garnet red. Your eyes are tinted pinkish-red too, most likely from the exertion that came along with the horrendous amount of coughs that took over you.
Red, red everywhere. Jeongin had previously thought of red as one of the most beautiful, and most interesting colors ever — a symbolism of love, nothing but the pure love he felt towards you.
But now, all he could think of was how much he was tormented by the mere sight of the color.
When his eyes, still blown wide in shock, trail down to his lap, the mere sight of what’s littered on it leaves him in tears.
Red petals, everywhere. All over the back of his hands, all over your lap, all over his lap.
Jeongin could probably spend ages, ages sobbing and whimpering about the sheer pain the sight in front of him brought. It tormented him beyond imagination. This should be a dream — Jeongin wants to wake up any second now, anywhere, in your lap, in his own bed, just anything to save his heart from seeing you this way.
Yet when you cough again, the pain in his heart tells otherwise.
“Y/N!” He chokes out a cry, and from there, he acts quick. He could cry about this later — he needs to find you some help, and now.
You feel numb. As numb as you possibly can when you see the tears in Jeongin’s eyes, though your sight is clouded by your own tears. You’re numb to the blood dripping down your chin and pooling in your lap, you’re numb to the feeling of those bloody petals littered all over the couch.
“We need to get you to the hospital, quick.” He gets up, wiping his eyes that are surprisingly, surprisingly overflowing with tears. You barely feel the handkerchief quickly wiping against your mouth, causing you to snap from your trance and look at him. The numbness doesn’t fade yet.
You doubt it ever will.
You’re not sure that the events after the incident go super quickly or as slow as a snail, and you’re not in any state to care about it either. Jeongin had called your mother when he drove you to the hospital — albeit over the sound of your repetitive and raucous coughs — and now your mom’s standing next to him outside, nervously prancing back and forth as he waits for the doctors to come out.
The hospital corridor is moderately lit — perfect setting for Jeongin’s mood right now. There’s no sound except for the occasional encounter when a nurse or doctor happens to walk past them. The hanahaki treatment section of the hospital isn’t the most crowded place — surprisingly enough, the doctors had immediately known what had happened to you.
Your mother can’t bring herself to thank Jeongin for dragging you to the hospital — she’s too paranoid. Your daughter coughing up blood and — Jeongin hadn’t mentioned it to her — flower petals over a movie night isn't the best news you’d want to receive when her friend calls you; so Jeongin understands why your mother is overly quiet.
He doesn’t try to reassure her either. It’s hard to do so when she’s gonna find out her daughter houses a wedding bouquet in her chest — and Jeongin isn’t that oblivious to not know what’s going on, especially standing in the hanahaki department of the clinic. His mother, not so much. All she can do is silently sob and mutter prayers repeatedly, hoping her daughter would be alright. Jeongin feels his heart break more when he sees your mom like this, and he knows he’s not gonna last at this rate, when he’s allowed to enter your room.
At this point, he can’t get past his own brain screaming a million different things at the same time, none of them coherent enough to make sense. He’s a mess right now — red eyes puffy and swollen, hair completely disheveled and half of his sweatshirt hanging out of where it was neatly tucked in.
Two hands at his heart, and that’s when he notices the red rose petal stuck to the back of his hand, probably from when you’d coughed all over it. It’s fairly large in size — Jeongin examines it, in a slightly successful attempt at trying to distract from the feeling of anxiety that builds up inside bit by bit. It’s a deep, dark red color, exactly like the rose he’d given you that day, at the trip.
The boy sighs to himself before pulling the petal off his hand, eyes widening when the blood underneath it tints the skin it runs across.
That’s when a lump forms in his throat, but he isn’t given time to cry, because soon enough, the sound of a door opening clicks through his ears, and Jeongin’s head snaps up.
He can see you from where he’s standing, and his whole world freezes in front of his eyes.
The flowers inside your chest had grown moderately large — that’s what the doctor said, at least. You’d been hiding your disease for two months, and it wasn’t until the end that Jeongin caught on — you’d been too stubborn to accept your fate. Maybe this was how it was supposed to end, after all.
You couldn’t accept it then, but you did now. Did it seriously make a difference?
Jeongin had seen your scan, and what he saw would’ve truly been pretty, if not for the fact that these flowers could be the cause for your imminent death. The roses had almost fully bloomed — and the thorns were pricklier than ever. Jeongin could almost feel them stab against his skin, and he didn’t even have the disease. It was confusing — things were too confusing right now.
You couldn’t speak much, the painkillers you were on were making you drowsy and causing you to quickly fall asleep. Even if you weren’t asleep, it wouldn’t have made a difference.
Numbness ran through your veins. You couldn’t bring yourself to feel anything after what had happened.
Jeongin and your mother hadn’t spoken to you after the doctor had shown them your scan, and they preferred to not break the news to you either, figuring that you were pretty shaken up from the incident already.
The doctor said he could give you two weeks before the flowers filled your lungs completely and blocked your throat.
And Jeongin is devastated.
When the effect of your painkillers wear off and you open your eyes, you feel a soft sensation brushing against your thumb, slowly turning to look at your best friend — tears streaked all over his face, eyes ridden with dark circles and red and puffy, his voice sounded nasal as he silently cried, eyesight focused on the floor.
“J-Jeongin…?” You mumble past your oxygen mask, surprisingly not noticing it’s presence until right now,
He perks up at the painful call, lifting his head to gaze into your eyes. He looks worse than you look right now, if you’re to be honest. You doubt he’s even brushed his teeth or had breakfast. The hospital room is pretty dim just like the exterior, but the sunlight coming from the open window is enough to light up the whole room, enough to at least see your friend’s features clearly.
“You’re awake.” he says as a matter-of-fact and you nod, gently taking off the contraption placed against your nose. Jeongin flinches like he wants to stop you. But then freezes when you try to slowly get up.
Turns out that’s a wrong move, because you can soon feel the thorns of the garden you have in your lungs prick against your skin, making you gasp and shriek in agony. Jeongin jerks up and places a hand on your back, and the other across your stomach — and gently maneuvers you into an awkward but comfortable position, before lifting the top of the bed into a reclining position before laying you down onto it.
“Careful, love.”
Your chest tightens at the actions once again, yet you try not to cough like you did the last time. Surprisingly biting on your tongue works to rid the feeling of suffocation, or at least distracts from it.
“Where’s m-mom?”
“She went to pick up some of your essentials, plus a few clothes.”
“D-did she eat? Did you eat?”
Jeongin smiles at your concern. It’s something he’s found endearing about you — how you always seem to put others first, even though you’re in a worse situation. Though the habit isn’t healthy, Jeongin can’t seem to get over how thoughtful one would have to be to act that way all the time. You’re so innocent, so kind — you’re one of a kind, at least for him.
“What?” You chuckle, noticing Jeongin’s lingering stare on you.
Your friend only beams, taking your hand in his once again. “I forced her to eat something because of her medication, so you don’t have to worry. I ate along with her too, though the canteen’s food doesn’t taste that well.”
A soft giggle leaves your lips and quickly morphs into a set of coughs, more petals fluttering all over your lap and hands. When Jeongin stands up to call a doctor, you lift a hand to stop him, gesturing for him to sit down.
It isn’t as intense as the first time, but there’s still a tiny bit of blood dripping from the corner of your mouth, which Jeongin quickly goes to wipe off with his thumb. You flinch at the warm touch, sighing to yourself before dropping your gaze to your lap.
“So…” You start. “What did the doctor say?”
“What?”
Jeongin seems visibly tense at your question, kind of like he was dreading it. Which he was. He knows enough about this to know that patients usually don’t like knowing, and in fact can be traumatised by knowing that their apparent death would be in two weeks.
Jeongin in fact has no idea how he’s so calm. He should be sobbing, trashing, looking for a way to hold you back. He shouldn’t be so calm.
He figures he’s just accepted fate. He’s relishing what could be his last moments with you.
You don’t reply, and Jeongin knows he’ll have to make something up.
“They said it’s just a regular allerg-”
“Jeongin.”
The boy freezes.
“Don’t lie to me.” Your voice is laid with so much pain, Jeongin wants to reach out and crush every problem you have into his fist. He wants all your sorrow and worry to dissolve, and right now, he just feels helpless. He feels powerless.
“How many days do I have left?” You ask, sniffling before wiping your tears away. “Just tell me already, Jeongin-”
Jeongin’s grip tightens against your hand as he whispers — “Two weeks.”
The words are only let out as a soft mumble, as though Jeongin himself is questioning the statement the doctors put forth. Really, in two weeks? Would you really be gone? Would he seriously never see more of your smiles, your loving gaze, those times when you’d get overly shy of his compliments, those times when you’d silently smile at him from afar?
Was this the end?
“Two weeks.” You repeat. Your voice honestly sounds like a croaking frog, but you can’t bring yourself to care.
“Hey Y/N…?” Jeongin hesitantly calls.
“Yeah?”
“Can I ask you something?” He puts his other hand on yours. “Two questions, actually.”
“Mhm?”
“This disease you have… hana-”
“Hanahaki.”
“Yeah, that.” A hand runs against the back of his neck and he continues. “Be honest, did you know that- that you had this disease before I found out?”
“Jeongin…” You’re about to shake your head, but then you remember the deadline. The deadline by which, you’re no longer going to be here, no longer going to be able to cuddle Jeongin during movie dates, no longer be able to even look at him from afar, or close for that matter. In other words, you didn’t want to end your days with him based on a lie.
Therefore you sigh, breathing out a ‘yes’ as your shoulders droop down.
You can hear Jeongin’s shaky sigh too.
“W-why?” He clenches your hand tightly, sadness mixing in with what you can only call disappointment. “How could you be so selfish?”
It's too late to take back those words now.
“Wh-what?” You raise your eyebrows, feeling scared at his sudden question. “Jeongin, I wanted to be sure-”
Oh who are you kidding? Jeongin and you both know that you’d hidden it because you didn’t want to accept it. It’s too late to change that now.
And Jeongin seems to know that too.
“Don’t- Y/N.” His breath morphs into sharp inhales, as though he’s downright angry at your actions — you know he has every reason to be — still, it doesn’t ease the pain in your heart. Or maybe that’s just the flowers.
“Do you think this is a joke?” His sobs grow louder in fervour, and you feel yourself break at the sight. The room is so, so quiet that you can hear his faint mumbles. You can hear the cries his heart screams in agony, letting you go is painful for him. The thought, rather the sound, only makes the plant in your heart grow further.
“Y/N- did you not think of your mother? Of me? Did you not think of what would have happened if you left us? You think it’s gonna be easy on the both of us? On everyone?” His gaze stern and his voice stable, you don’t get affected by his words, but you do understand what he means — and maybe wish that you could’ve reversed your actions.
“How could you, Y/N?” He gets up from where he’s seated beside your hospital bed. “How could you think that this would be the most appropriate action?”
Jeongin knows he’s angry. Jeongin knows you’re going through a lot. But he’s too.
He’s not angry at you, not at himself, but fate. He’s mad that this is your fate, that you have to go away so soon. He’s mad that he can’t do anything to help you, in any manner.
You don’t say a word, which only causes Jeongin to sigh — disappointedly, again — and walk to where his coat is hung against the edge of his bed, picking it off and pulling it over him in a hurry. Every cell in you wants to scream at him, apologize for what you did, but your voice feels small, almost like you can’t force it out of your throat.
He goes towards the door that leads to the corridor, stopping for a second before turning to look at you.
“Are you gonna tell me, at least, who this person is?”
“W-what?” Things are too confusing right now.
“Hanahaki comes with unrequited love, Y/N. Are you gonna tell me who didn’t return your love?”
“You didn’t” You want to say. But then again, you stay quiet, not being able to handle the intensity of the moment.
Jeongin wants for two seconds, then sighs and shakes his head. “Whatever, I guess.”
And then he leaves.
In the next week, your health goes down drastically. More of petals expelled out of your lungs, more blood dripping from between your lips, more of your mother’s horrified expression as she runs away from the room while the doctors tend to your coughs. More sobs from your mother when she thinks you’re asleep, more melancholic smiles when you’re awake.
But you feel so empty.
Every piece of you feels like it’s being ripped apart. You can’t even sit up without someone’s help, of such intensity is the pain. The pain of knowing that your love would never be returned.
The pain of knowing that you hurt the person you loved truly.
You were put on your oxygen mask 24/7, and instructed to not take it off whatsoever. Your medication stopped taking it’s usual effect, and if anyone saw you the way you were outside the current circumstances, they’d have assumed that you haven't slept for 8 days and were going to crumble into the earth any second.
“Honey?”
You gasp at the sudden intrusion to your thoughts, turning around to see your mother, sitting next to you and holding your hand with her own. You hum as a response, clearly unable to respond more than a mere mumble.
“Did you and Jeongin fight?”
A pang of guilt floods through your nerves at the mention of your friend’s name. He’d come to visit you only once in the past week. Perhaps even he couldn’t handle the fact that your death certificate was ready to be signed soon, and was trying to not be tormented by the fact. Or perhaps he was just angry.
“W-why?” You croak.
“I convinced him to come stay here while I go pick up a fresh change of clothes, but it took me quite a bit of arguing.”
You feel sad for her. She’s clearly paranoid — you can hear it in her voice, the shake lingers throughout. Yet she holds it in, trying not to let you worry about it.
You don’t answer her question. The last thing you need is for her to get mad at you too, though you doubt it. Your mom has never been the kind to yell at you for anything — provided, you’ve never given her a reason either.
“Do you think he’s mad because I didn’t tell him about the person who didn’t return m-my l-lo-ve…?” your throat goes dry towards the end and your mother quickly hands you a glass of water. You chug it down and sigh in relief, breath still short.
“Is that person him?” Your mother questions with her gentle, soothing voice one that can make you relax on the first listen. There’s no use lying to her, you figure. She knows you too well to do that, plus, like you said, you couldn’t bring yourself to end your days with her on a lie.
“Yeah…”
“Oh sweetheart,” She brushes some of your hair off your face, sitting down again before drumming her fingers against the back of your hand gently. “I don’t think he could be mad at you.”
“But he is. Didn’t y-you see? He didn’t bother to meet me as much after our argument. He’c c-clearly mad.”
“Hmmm,” Your mother ponders. “I don’t think so.”
“You don’t?”
“Nope. I have known him for a while, dear. He’s been with you for more than five years. Maybe he’s having trouble taking this in? Just like…” Your mother stops after that, but you know the completion.
Just like her.
“I’m sorry, mom.”
You simply don’t get it. You should be scared. You should be sad and devastated that your end was going to come soon. You should be thrashing around and crying and wailing in despair — you just don’t have the energy to even bother about your end. It’s depressing, but you know there’s no way you could avoid the inevitable, or get your lover to return your love.
Love wasn’t supposed to be something forced, it had to happen naturally. And if Jeongin didn’t develop it naturally, you just had to learn to live with it. Or not.
“Don’t be, darling. Everyone deserves to love, just like how they deserve it back. I wish it could’ve ended differently.”
“It’s alright mom. He loves me too… just not on the way I love him.”
You sniffle as a single tear runs down your chin, though you and your mom aren’t given enough time to speak more when you hear a familiar voice at the door.
“Hey Mrs. L/N.” Jeongin says, shrugging off his half snow-covered coat before hanging it onto the bedside. Did he seriously walk in the snow? All the way here?
“Hello, Jeongin dear.” Your mother stands up, picking her coat before moving to fish the car keys from her purse. “Thank you for watching over Y/N while I’m gone, darling.”
“It’s no problem, Mrs. L/N.”
“Oh, so formal.” Your mom chuckles, though in her despaired state. “Y/N, you get some sleep, it’s about midnight dear.” She leans over to kiss your forehead while Jeongin excuses himself to the washroom, and you nod.
“Good night mom.”
“Good night, and don’t worry about him. He’ll talk to you eventually.”
Oh, how reassuring. “Mhm.” You smile, closing your eyes to drift into slumber before Jeongin returns, because the last thing you need right now is to feel sad and cry over how you’d hurt him.
By the time the sound of the door clicking resounds through the space, you’re already asleep.
It’s way past midnight. Jeongin shouldn’t be up.
Somehow, he still finds himself seated next to your bed, staring fondly at your calm features as you finally get the rest you’ve needed for the past few days.
Oh, he wouldn’t be able to compare your sheer beauty to even that of the moon; even when you’re in such a fragile and vulnerable state. Your eyelashes are still and unmoving where they sit against your skin, your breath is calm and slightly wavering as you struggle to breathe slightly.
His hand slips into your own gently, and his heart melts when you shift, tightening your grasp on his warm skin before falling into a slumber again.
Why was he mad in the first place? Jeongin feels dumb for acting so quickly on his emotions, especially when you’re in a bad place at the moment. He wants to wake you up and apologize, but he can’t, because you’re sound asleep — and that’s a good thing, since seep comes so scarcely to you these days.
Then, a single tear falls from his eyes. His thoughts traverse to the dream he had the previous night — you, cold, dead in his arms. Him, sobbing, trying to wake you up but you’re really gone. He can’t even hear your mother’s cries from behind him, because he’s devastated to know that you’ve left him. The dream had woken him up in a cold sweat — it was then he realised that he’d committed a mistake, and agreed to come visit you, because you had about 5 days left.
His thoughts then traverse to the conversation you had with your mother, while he was standing outside in the cold hospital corridor, curiously listening.
“Is that person him?” “Yeah…”
When he heard those words, countess, infinite thoughts crashed at his head; all at once. Nothing made any sense. The reality of the situation was dawning on him too quickly, and Jeongin was having a hard time processing it.
You loved him? He was the person who didn’t return your love?
“Why didn’t you tell me, Y/N?” He mumbles in confusion — so much confusion, so much hurt — he wanted time to just stop for awhile and give him a fair chance to analyze the situation.
But, once all the initial thoughts were out of the way, only one question remained:
Was he the reason you were going to die?
Jeongin felt like a murderer — like he’d just stabbed you in cold blood. He knows it is’t like that — just like you’d said, love should come natural. So why did Jeongin feel so bad? WHy did he feel like he was the one at fault?
A fond smile crosses his lips when he remembers the book where you keep all your flowers safely. Who would have thought your fondness for flowers would morph into the reason for your demise?
Quiet, hushed in the midnight wind, Jeongin gently brings out the rose he’d picked from his satchel. It’s almost relieving to see a rose in it’s true glory, without scattered petals or blood covering the flower. A part of him grows sad that you won’t be able to gush over flowers together anymore, he won’t be able to see your smile anymore. It hurts him. It stabs his heart over and over again, and Jeongin is pained — almost like he’s being put to death slowly — he wants the pain to end, but only suffers and suffers.
The stem has already been cut and the thorns have been thrown out. Jeongin leans over to tuck the flower behind your ear, fingers brushing against the almost cold skin at the back of your ear before letting another tear slip from his eye, running down his cheek and falling on your palm.
A strange, oh-so-strange feeling creeps up on him. It’s like… a fluttering in his heart? Jeongin can’t quite place it — heck, he doesn’t try to make sense of it. There are more important things to look at, right now. He suddenly has the urge to pull you into his arms and gently murmur sweet words into your ear — seems odd for a situation like this, but oh well, feelings are feelings.
He pats your hand gently and smiles, before moving to sleep on the smaller bed in front of your own. Not allowed to go far, though, because your grip on his hands tighten almost immediately, and Jeongin tightens to look into your eyes, sparkly and slightly droopy from the intrusion of sleep.
“Y/N, go to-”
“Stay.” You mumble, feeling your voice choke as the petals threaten to spill out for what seems like the millionth time. Yet, you manage to spill out another, “Please?”
Jeongin feels like he’s about to cry. Your expression is so, so hopeful, he can’t bring himself to deny. He wouldn’t in the first place, because who was he to deny what could be his friend’s last wish?
A sob bubbles up his throat, but he swallows it down, smiling with melancholy before following your weak pull on his hand, genty climbing on your bed before slotting himself between you and the steel grill that prevented patients from falling down. He gently tucks his hand under you and pulls you close to himself, tensing up for a second when you wrap an arm around his own, gently rubbing on it before drifting off to sleep. You want to cherish this moment — this could be the last time before you could never see him again. Fuck your medication for making you so drowsy. Or not, because you were certain you would start crying, and that would certainly not end well.
The whole room falls silent for two seconds, and you fall asleep almost immediately.
And then, Jeongin releases all his tears, and everything comes crashing down on him. He breaks apart.
The world was too cruel to you. He was cruel to you. He can’t believe that in less than a week, you’d be gone. Gone from earth. Flowers had lost all their beauty for him, the moment he saw you coughing them up on that couch during movie night.
He wanted to do anything. He wanted any small sign to show that you would stay with him. He was in so much pain, he couldn’t accept your fate. He wanted to grab your hand and pull you to himself, keep you close, he couldn’t let go, he couldn’t give you up, he couldn’t —
“I love you.” You mumble unconsciously in your sleep, and Jeongin loses it then and there. His throat feels dry as tears flow and flow and don’t cease no matter what. His body shakes like a sobbing child, but thankfully you’re knocked out from the effect of your medication. He hasn’t cried this hard in a while, guess there’s a first time for everything. The three words pierce his heart, and they suddenly hold more meaning than anything — Jeongin wants to hear those words on a loop; he feels strangely ecstatic when you say them.
And so, with a shaky voice and a sorrowful tone, Jeongin replies after pressing a kiss to your forehead — “I-I love you, t-too.”
His eyes flutter shut and he basks in your arms just one last time, holding you close to himself as he finally, finally finds himself at peace, next to you.
When your mother finds you both snuggled up and asleep together, a smile crosses her lips. A hopeful smile.
“Are you ready for your scan, Y/N?”
You feel oddly light today — one would say it’s because your body was close to shutting down completely, but your throat felt a bit, a tiny bit clearer and less barren than a fucking desert. Nevertheless, the scan does make you nervous. This would make clear how long the flowers would take to reach your throat — the doctor’s estimation was about three days, which seemed way too short for Jeongin.
Oh, how embarrassing it was when the nurses, all giggly and mushy-eyed, found you snuggled with Jeongin like a teddy bear at the early hours of the morning, waking you and Jeongin up and only cracking up more at your bewildered expressions when you find yourself tangled with each other.
Before the scan, Jeongin had held your hand softly, leaning down to press another kiss to your forehead. You’d shyly smiled, nodding before letting the nurse drag you to the scanning room.
The details of the scan itself aren’t important, it went pretty well — as decent as a scan could possibly go. You’re able to cooperate with your nurses pretty feasibly, you feel the sudden urge to get out of your wheelchair and try walking. Sure, you can still feel the choked feeling in your throat and the burn in your lungs, but somehow, it’s just a tiny bit lesser than usual. Maybe it’s because your painkillers are working more effectively. Maybe.
Jeongin’s waiting for you outside when you’re led out of the room, and he smiles when he sees you.
You don’t even remember what you’d said the previous night. All you remember was passing out while Jeongin was in the washroom, and then waking up to him cuddled up, warm and snug next to you. His features were clear and calm as the ocean on a sunny day, a small smile on his lips, as though he was dreaming about something happy. You hope he did, because that boy deserves the happiness.
“You seem energetic today.” Jeongin says, taking note of your perky demeanour, that only causes you to giggle slightly.
Sure, you don’t remember the happenings of last night, but he does — and he’d promised himself to cherish every last second. Because in the end, it’s all he can do — for leading you to this state, for getting mad at you and wasting precious time in which he could’ve stayed with you. He’d promised to not let you live your last moment sad and desolated.
“I feel light, for some reason.” You mumble with a broken voice as Jeongin takes the wheelchair from the nurse, listening to what she has to say before bowing and nodding, leading you back to your room.
“What did she say?” You ask, fiddling with your thumbs.
“She said your scan results would come in an hour.”
“Oh… alright.”
For some reason, you’re too joyous today, after the little surprise you got as soon as your eyes opened. You can’t seem to bother about the end— you want to live in this moment, right now.
When you come back to the room, Jeongin lifts you up bridal style, causing you to gasp before placing you down onto the bed. The nurse waiting there quickly fixes your IV and helps you sit into a comfortable position (though it’s hard when thorns keep pricking at your ribs) before bowing to the both of you, and leaving.
Your mother has once again left to go fix up the house, leaving you in the trust of your best friend. You aren’t complaining though, especially when Jeongin sits down beside your bed, taking your hand in his before playing with your nimble fingers — just like always.
He looks gorgeous today. After a lot of nagging from your mother, he’d used the hospital bathroom to wash his face and comb his hair neatly, and you’re happy about that because he looks fresher and happier than ever. You want him to be smiling and happy, even when you leave, because… did you need a reason? You just wanted him to be happy and content with his life.
The thought invokes an angsty feeling of melancholy, but you brush it away, trying to focus on Jeongin and the silence that drops on the both of you like a warm blanket. You smile softly at him, gently letting go of his hand before tucking a few strands of his hair behind his ear, almost melting when Jeongin’s eyes flutter close.
“Hey Jeongin?” You call, grabbing his hand once again and interlacing the fingers together.
“Yeah?”
“When I… leave,” You notice the twitch in his expression, but nonetheless, continue. “Will you bring me flowers every week?”
You remember the red rose you’d found tucked behind your ear when you woke up — it had dried up a bit, but nonetheless, it was one of the prettiest objects you’d ever seen — even though there was a whole bouquet of them spewing out your mouth every two seconds.
“I will.” Jeongin sniffles. The thought of having to visit your grave every week to bring you flowers is immensely saddening, but Jeongin agrees anyways. He agrees, for you.
It’s the least he can do.
It’s funny how you say “leave”, like you’re going to your hometown for a month-long vacation and not actually like you’re going to be buried any time soon. Jeongin thinks it’s because you don’t want him to get too sad over his loss — a stupid thing to wish — Jeongin knows this loss is going to affect him in more ways than one.
“Jeongin, d-don’t cry…” You cup his cheek, gently brushing your thumb against his cheek and wiping away the tears that fall, one by one. Jeongin shakes his head, placing his palm on your hand and smiling at you.
“Can you do me another favor?”
“As many as you’d like Y/N.” He says. He’ll do anything you want — it’s your last wish after all.
“Bury me with my flower journal, please?” It may seem like a weird claim to bury oneself with a dusty old book, but Jeongin understands the significance — you want to hold onto those memories you made with him while writing it together, while picking flowers together and all those happy moments you exchanged.
Jeongin tries not to let his voice break again. “I will.”
You beam at his acceptance. Jeongin feels the slight thump of his heart against his chest, and a warm feeling envelopes him from inside. He’s suddenly overcome with an urge to press delicate kisses on your eyelids, though he tries to shoo it away, because it isn’t the main point of focus right now.
But soon your mother walks in, and it’s all small talk and deep conversations with her at the same time. You have breakfast, persuade (more like force) Jeongin to scarf down his meal and giggle about some random jokes thrown here and there, until the doctor comes in. Both Jeongin and your mother stand up, bowing and wishing good morning while you do too. Wish, not stand up. You’re basically tied to the bed at this point.
“Mrs L/N, I’d have had a word with you in private, but I think Miss Y/N needs to hear this too.”
“What is it, doctor?”
You furrow your eyebrows in confusion and Jeongin’s grip on your hand tightens, thumb rubbing over your skin to soothe your obvious tension. The doctor slides the transparent, firm sheet off it’s envelope before letting the sunlight hit the back of it, in order to enable a clearer viewing.
“This is… the most unusual case I’ve ever seen, but —” He points to a junction on the scan. “The flowers have actually reduced in amount, and they've separated from the windpipe by a whole two inches. See?” He points at the edges of the lungs and at the windpipe, but you understand what he means. The flowers are there, no doubt, but it’s almost like — a whole stem of them just disappeared into thin air.
Of course this could’ve been because you coughed them up, but the coughed up flowers go instantly, or so you’ve heard. There’s confusion written on all of your faces right now.
“Is that why I was feeling lighter and easier to breathe today? Because the flowers withered off and gave more space for air?” You ask in your low voice, and your doctor nods.
“Seems like it. Do you have your previous scan?” Your mother hands it to him quickly after a great deal of fishing out of her purse.
He places the earlier scan behind the newer one, and suddenly, you can see what he means. It’s almost like they shrunk — you don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but nonetheless, you’re happy you can breathe a bit more.
“What does this mean, though?” Jeongin asks, bewildered at the strange news. The room is so quiet and the tension is thick enough to cut with a knife, and you can see both your mother and Jeongin waiting for the doctor’s words.
“It means that we’ll take another scan tomorrow, a deeper one. And check if the flowers are actually collecting somewhere else, or just disappearing. And if they are disappearing…” He trails off, and you giggle when Jeongin and your mother lean forward in anticipation, though curious yourself.
“She’ll be home by Christmas. Or even earlier, if the recovery speed is fast.”
“Y-You mean… I can be cured?” Your voice shakes with hope, and the doctor smiles sweetly at you, before nodding.
“Yes dear, you’ll be the first patient who’s walked out of this place cured from hanahaki.”
At that moment, it almost feels like every flower inside your chest wilts out — you feel so light, so ecstatic. You’re over the clouds at the news, and don’t even hear your mother’s cries of thankfulness before the doctor heads out.
“Y/N!” Jeongin exclaims, ignoring the fluttering feeling in his heart and the burn in his cheeks when he cups your own. “You’re gonna come home!”
You shake with soft sobs, and smile at Jeongin.
“I’m gonna come home.” Provided the scan tomorrow showed a positive result, but you don’t bother to mention that part.
And the next day, when your scan results come back, a huge smile adorns your face, and your mother is in tears. Happy tears.
The sunshine is overly bright today, leaving you squinting for sight, especially when you’re seated in a garden out in the open, book in one hand and the other one resting against the cool, moist grass. The air holds a musky forest scent, and you revel in the feeling of the shivers the cold air that cuts through skin brings.
The park is relatively empty for the morning — you’re glad it is, because it brings on a sense of calmness that you seem to like. The surroundings are just perfect — you don’t want anyone to disrupt your mood right now.
So yeah. The story ends that way. You recover, bit by bit, though it takes a whole bunch of time. There were times when you still had to cough out those petals, but you couldn’t be happier — it felt as though you were spitting out those vicious thorns that had tormented and threatened your life. The doctors had no idea how you’d managed to recover — but this was an interesting case to put into their portfolio, so they weren’t complaining.
And oh, you had Jeongin to help you through all of it, of course.
It had taken you two weeks to be discharged from the hospital and be able to finally walk again, but when you did it — you felt like a whole new person, in a whole new world. Sure, you had to hold onto your mother or Jeongin wherever you went for the first week or so — it was almost like your legs had turned jelly.
When you returned home, Jeongin insisted that he take you to the garden every day, and when you complained that you couldn’t walk, he’d lifted you into his arms (bridal style, again) and carried you all the way there, and then given you a piggyback ride you all the way back home.
Eventually, you ended up telling him the truth — that the unrequited love that caused everything was because of how you’d fallen for him. You figured he deserved it, especially when he’d stuck with you the whole time without any hesitation and helped you whenever he could — he was truly one of the nicest, kindest people you’d ever met.
Of course, you were surprised when Jeongin only smiled and told you that he knew what you were talking about, and then proceeded to narrate how he’d overheard you in the hospital. Giggles left his lips when you gave him that meme-worthy look, making him shake his head before slinging and arm over his shoulder.
Surprisingly, that night ended just like the books — lovey-dovey confessions exchanged in the warm and intimate setting of the night sky, over shy smiles and lingering kisses. The both of you finally gave in to each other.
Huh, so maybe you were wrong about them — books — after all.
So when, your love was returned in the end, every flower in your chest had finally disappeared, and you couldn’t have been happier.
“You know when I brought you here I wanted you to help me pick flowers and not read a book?”
You laugh at the voice that comes from behind, closing the book shut before placing it on the side while Jeongin takes a seat beside you, hissing at the slight coldness of the grass. Ah, what a romantic scenario — green and colorful flowers as far as the eye could see, a book that you’ve been trying to finish but have never been able to because your boyfriend keeps interrupting you with his random outbursts of affection, and said person sitting right next to you.
“Well, you keep interrupting me all the time!” You chuckle, sliding a hand behind his shoulder before pulling him down to lie on your lap, and Jeongin complies. A sigh of content leaves his lips when he feels your fingers comb through his hair to rid them of any tangles — Jeongin feels stupid to not realise how much he loves you. It feels nice to call you his, feels nice to be able to say I love you, in all of it’s true meaning.
“What, I can’t cuddle my girlfriend now? Come on,” He takes your other hand in his, turning onto his back to look up at you before pressing his lips to the back of your hand. You feel the heat creep up your cheeks when he calls you his girlfriend, still not being able to take it in without growing immensely shy.
“You crybaby, fine. I’ll read the book later only because I love you and you give exceptionally nice cuddles.”
“Hmm, good.” He mumbles sleepily, eyes fluttering shut in calmness when he feels your fingers brush away any stray locks of hair that may get into his eyes. The reaction to your touch is so immediate these days, Jeongin thinks it’s a part of his routine now. Spend at least an hour admiring you in all of your happy, healthy glory.
Meanwhile, you’re sitting there, admiring his features in silence. His hair has grown longer now — Jeongin refuses to cut it no matter your endless verbalizations of how his original haircut looked better — and a small part of you has grown fond of this look too. His warm skin, and his sparkly eyes when he looks up at you, the bright, loving smile that he displays before getting out of your lap, kissing you on your lips to break you out of your focus.
The action only makes you more shy, and Jeongin laughs, cooing at your behavior before standing up, dusting his clothes off the dirt and extending his hand for you.
“Lend me a hand, will you?”
The line seems vaguely familiar and you’re overcome with a sense of deja vu, but nonetheless, you give him your hand, standing up before picking up your satchel and handing him his own.
“Now are you gonna pick a rose for me or do I have to do it myself again?” Jeongin raises an eyebrow and smirks, and you frown, slapping his arm before walking off to check all the flowers in their bushes.
“Hey, wait for me! Y/N!”
When he reaches you, he slides a hand into your own, interlacing the fingers before looking at you lovingly.
“I love you.” You both say at the same time, giggling at each other soon after — perhaps at how well you knew each other to time the confession so well.
So, this is how it ends. While you do think that things could’ve been handled differently, you’re glad that everything went the way it went, because in the end, you’d found him, he’d found you, you’d discovered your feelings together. You loved each other.
Because love and a red rose could never be truly hid.
but what if she had never recovered?

Souly Damned Saturday
🌼Good morning everyone! Today is the start of the first Souly Damned Saturdays! In essence Saturdays will be dedicated to my original IP, Souly Damned. It will be a day where I post information about the world, its character, and much more! The askbox is open all day today for SD content but if you have questions after today feel free to send them in! I am so excited to start this off because as much as I love fan work my real dream is to have my own original content. So let’s get started! This beautiful chibi of Val was done by @little-noko 💙
What is Souly Damned?
Souly Damned is my original IP and is generally the over arching name for the world in which I have created. If you enjoy my UT AU world building content then you will enjoy this. The Souly Damned world centers around the supernatural and the realms that lie within. While most stories and worlds focus on the heroes and angelic beings that have a call of righteousness, Souly Damned focuses instead on those of the Fallen.
The main focus is the Princes of Hell and their relationships to one another, how Hell is run, as well as the trials and tribulations of dealing with a sense of duality. Most media tend to paint the Seven Deadly Sins as simple background characters or “big bads” but my boys are the main focus. Of course there are other stories within the SD universe but we will get to that a little later.
Who are the characters?
There are quite a few including side characters but there are 12 Princes in total with 2 half brothers. The universe is run by what we consider to be the 3 fates, past, present, and future. These beings maintain a balance in the world however despite their Celestial lineage their dynamics shift dramatically. The three consider themselves brothers yet they have no physical blood relation they were just the first three beings in existence. In order there is:
Darrius - the fate of the past Sidriel - the fate of the present Kalthiel - the fate of the future
In this world the words used to describe beings are not accurate. As an example mortals would call Sidriel an angel but that is not the true term. They are referred to as Celestials. The same is said between demons and Infernals. Darrius has 12 sons each representing the 7 virtues but things begin to go wrong when Darrius tries to intervene more and more with mortal life. As he does the mortals begin to praise him and worship him and that adulation begins to corrupt him.
Believing himself to be a god he tries to take control over both the mortal realm as well as their Celestial one. A war begins with some of his more loyal sons at his side. The war causes two events to take place. The first is that Darrius and his sons are stricken from their Celestial status and tossed down to the mortal Realm where they are forced to confront their now corrupted forms. Some of them try to fight what is happening to them but most begin to break quickly or even embrace their punishment. This is when the 12 Princes are born as they rule the mortal realms, dividing them into 7 separate and distinct kingdoms. The second event is the closing of the once open Celestial Realm where Sidriel becomes ruler.
Are some of your AU boys in this?
To be perfectly frank, yes but not in their AU form. In essence they are characters that have nothing to do with UT that were created for UT AU projects. I love them dearly and I see no need to part from their designs or their personalities just because I have them in “other content”. So yes you may see some names or designs that will cross over but these are all my personal designs.
So skeletons?
Yes, but only those of corrupted Celestial blood have this appearance. I always cannoned that these powerful Fallens would have characteristics of humanity but also be stripped of it. What better way to do that than make them skeletal in appearance? Despite my UT roots this is a decision I made long before it existed so I am not going to change it. There are plenty of other skeletal characters out there.
Who are the boys?
That is a lot to unpack so I will start easy and just post their names and their associated sin. Keep in mind that because of their power their real names have significance. It is why they have alias names that they go by. So you will see 2 names for each. The first is their Alias and how I tend to refer to them and the second is their true name. Some of the boys don’t even use an alias because the human who even dared speak it would suffer severe consequences. Not all of them are amenable to being summoned. This is also in order of age.
Nasaros --> Ruler of the Infernal Realm (he embodies all of the sins) Costello/ Saketh --> Prince of Lust Carthus / Darkinol --> Prince of Pride Sanneth / Kelran --> Prince of Envy Beast; Cuban; Valentine/ Valruth --> Prince of Lust Dusk / Dantillion --> Prince of Pride The Boss; Luciano / Sokan --> Prince of Wrath Grimm; Rus / Cerberus --> Prince of Greed Gin / Dozzenath --> Prince of Sloth Crimson / Arnaun --> Prince of Greed Arzin / Zorrol --> Prince of Wrath Ouro/ Ouroboros --> Prince of Gluttony Noir and Blanc --> The rulers of limbo (half brothers)
-------------------------- Ok I know this is not a whole bunch but trust me I have so much to share for this info. I really need questions so that I can tailor what info to release so if you want to know more please send an ask my way! Comments work as well! This is literally not even scratching the surface. Hope you all join me in my excitement for this content!

New Episode Update Let’s GOO!!!
Warning : This is just Yume having a mental breakdown, seriously. This episode update was WHACK.
~ MAJOR SPOILERS FOR 68-75 ~
I know we ain’t participating and all but the game reminding you that there’s 10 minutes left to prepare is seriously bad for my heart.
Aah, shiet. Vil is still hurt.
He still has small wounds and scratches that he hid make up. Daddy, I’m worried.
Apparently, yeah, I’m not the only one cause my homeboy, Epel just asked to switch the center role with Vil. THE CONFIDENCE.
Aw, he’s worried about him falling over during stage (And make the performance look bad) Come on, Epel just be honest-
...He finally became the ideal poisoned apple that Vil wanted, huh?
Vil being proud a mom.
But the queen inside him is STRONG.
He’ll embrace the villain in him, OUR QUEEN CAN STILL GO. INJURED, WHO?
...AAND he proceeds to roast Epel again lol Typical Vil.
I love how Epel just accepted a nickname like “Doku Ringo-chan” lol It’s so cute, senior-junior relationship goals right there.

Unmei no megami is giving me idia ptsd here.
Heartslabyul Senpais are watching their kids, looking all proud *sniff
Oh god, after playing Obey Me, it just occurred to me how similar Cater and Asmodeus’ voices are...
Watch these Senpai dorks act like Ace and Deuce’s second family. Trey being the dad, Riddle being the mom, and Cater being the supportive big bro. It’s so beautiful.
Riddle’s voice is a lot more softer now, I just realized...It’s so soothing...
God i miss u too octavinelle never change
Yeah, why tf did Floyd not audition for this
Bro, can you imagine Nobuhiko Okamoto in the squad as well??? IMAGINE-

Aw...Rook felt that Neige’s performance carries a stronger bond than theirs :’( it’s hard to put the blame on him when he’s saying all these stuff
It’s just like what they said in the past episodes that it’s really hard voting for your own team when you know the opposing team is better.
Aww...He just wanted Vil to believe in himself more...Rook is such a best man. Im crying-
Oh noooo is Vil gonna cry too nooo- daddy turned to baby really quick SOMEONE GIVE HIM AN EMERGENCY HUG

Queen just went “I think you need this handkerchief more than I do now” THAT’S RIGHT. REPENT MOTHERFUCKER.
Rook crying is cursed.
But damn, I’m kinda liking this new relationship this bitchy relationship they have
Neige just dragged everyone’s ass back on stage and his snow white energy just said “LETS ALL BE FRIENDS AND SING”
NEIGE IS FUCKING GREAT- HE REALLY DID GOT THESE BITCHES TO SING HEIGH HO LOL
ACE’S RELUCTANT SINGING AND DEUCE LOOKING LIKE HE’S HAVING FUN
KALIM IS SUCH A MOOD, SINGING EVEN WITHOUT KNOWING THE LYRICS AND JAMIL JUST HAVING THAT “i want to die” ENERGY
AIGHT. ROOK IS HAVING WAY TOO MUCH FUN AND EPEL IS TRYING HIS BEST. HE’S SO CUTE-
OMG NEIGE AND VIL HAVING SUCH GOOD HARMONY—
YAHOO Y A H O O TANOSHIINDA~~

What a somewhat happy ending, even though Rook just backstabbed us I’m crying Beauté 100 points!!!
LOL Vil realizing he’s having fun singing with Neige- “SOMEONE JUST END ME RIGHT NOW-“ The desperation in his voice-
I love how Neige’s yahoo yahoo is messing with everyone’s head, even Vil wants to pass out lol

HEADMASTER OF ROYAL SWORD!?
He looks like your typical grandpa- and his outfit looks like that one mickey mouse wizard outfit but blue—
Old man just went “we won lol” just to piss Crowley off I like this guy’s energy already-
Crowley being most likely as old as this guy—
ooohh this man just sensed something in this stage- Leona did too, didn’t he???
* Damn. Crowley talking so fast sounds like he’s making a load of bullshit lol
Anyway, I’m just glad that it’s not mickey mouse who’s the headmaster— I would’ve lost my shit.
We’re back in our dorms and I forgot that the squad doesn’t live with us anymore. It’s suddenly so lonely now...
Grim is getting the yahoo yahoo ptsd too lol it’s too goddamn catchy
oooohh shiet- mickey is calling us again
YES we finally got a good picture of this motherfucker
It seems like nothing is disrupting our communication this time, so MC thought to call Grim but—
Grim is not here.
Uuhhh...Grim? Where you’ve gone??? We’re getting flashbacks of the first parts of the game.
We went out to find Grim and HE’S CHOMPING ON ANOTHER BLACK STONE ON THE STAGE-
GRIM SPIT THAT OUT YOU LOOK TERRIFYING
AAAAAHH GRIM HAS GONE FERAL— He’s attacking US
Is this because we didn’t win his tuna canss nooo

He learned a new move though- SCRATCH
Ooh— We’re seeing some Ignihyde scenes here~
P U H I H I
Idia getting a lot of emails from bigshot companies whoa—
THAT OLYMPUS—?! EXCUSE ME??? Ortho what- Are we finally getting that Hercules episode—
Damn getting a hot chance in olympus only to put them down the recycling bin oof— Idia why edit : Yume was informed that olympus is kind of a company that sponsored VDC sorry she was mind-fucked at this moment and the ability to understand proper Japanese just went whoosh lol Thanks to @starshiningsirius for pointing it out for Yume~ ♥︎ HONESTLY YUME’S JUST GONNA WAIT FOR ACTUAL PROFESSIONAL TRANSLATORS AT THIS POINT LOL Don’t trust me for important situation too much lol
Aaaahh...We’re getting this shut-in out of his room in the next episode, are we?
And that concludes the whole Pomefiore Episode! JESUS CHRIST 75 CHAPTERS ALL IN ALL!? How long is the Ignihyde chapter going to be, huh!?
This was a really, really fun episode lol I’d consider this a fan service episode actually cause of all the things we get to experience— The singing, dancing, and the new songs, THE DRAMA. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
But then, the plot thickens, no? What’s going to happen to Grim? In the Ignihyde episode? And those reoccurring memories of us? And our relationship with Tsunotarou lol ALSO WE NEVER REALLY DID FIND OUT WHAT ROOK’S UNIQUE MAGIC IS. DISNEY EXPLAIN—
Thanks for reading this shitpost of Yume losing her shiet lol See you all in the Ignihyde Episode~ ❤

KNIGHTS
In which two giants begin to clash...

CHAPTER 15: Blood Falls And The Fighting Goes On
In all of his fifteen years, Shane had never seen his father quite so nervous. He’d seen him angry, joyful and a handful of emotions in between, but never nervous. He’d been told time and time again just how much this tournament mattered to the kingdom and their future, but Shane had assumed the nerves would wane by the time a third of the event was over and the crowd showed no sign of losing their excitement. If anything, the crowds seemed to be getting more and more excited with every match. Always chanting for more as soon as the victor’s bloody hand was raised and the loser’s bloody body was led back to the tent. The Executioner had hardly been prodded, SD had needed a bandage and Matt was going to need a lot of whiskey to clean out his wound, but he’d live and his arm would be fine. So where was the problem?
His father was pacing a lot more than what felt normal. He’d be at one end of the tent, walk across, pause at the doorway to watch the action and either wince or nod depending on what was happening before making his way to the other side. He’d repeat it back and forth for ages. Almost like he was doing it just to wear on everyone’s nerves.
By the time his father was about to cross the tent for the 86th time, Shane stood up and grabbed his elbow as gently as he could.
“Pops, I know you’re nervous, but you gotta stop pacing. Gonna dig yourself a rut,” he murmured, keeping his voice as low as possible to keep from being accused of insulting the king.
“That’s none of your concern, Shane. Are your girls ready?”
“They’re ready. Just like they have been every other time you asked me to try and change the subject. They’re ready and they’re gonna stay ready.”
“Don’t take that tone with me, boy.”
“I’m not taking a tone, Pops. I’m saying so because I’m worried about you. I don’t want to be king just yet, so don’t give yourself a heart attack.”
His father blew a puff of air out of his nose. That was about as much as he’d laughed in the last six months.
“Plenty of better people here to worry about, Shane. I’m not one of the ones you should be spending that energy on.”
“Who should I be spending it on?”
“Should be worrying about the miscalculation I made.”
“What miscalculation? You planned everything here down to how many fence posts would be put up today.”
“There was something I didn’t take into account. I didn’t think about how these knights would watch each other perform. See what garnered the most applause and the most hatred. How they would take what they’d see and make it more dangerous. Learn from each other. In other tournaments where there’s maybe a fraction of the people here, one can hardly hear the applause anyway. They don’t become addicted to it like the men today are. I can see it in their eyes. They’ve gotten a taste and they want more. Then the ones who follow want to taste more than his predecessor.”
“Pops, I think you’re exaggerating…”
“Am I? The first blood drawn was barely a papercut. The second one could have easily killed SD. The third one almost removed Matt’s arm. It likely won’t work right anymore. We’re three matches into nine and a livelihood has likely already been ruined. What comes after that, a death?”
“Maybe. It could be. Accidents happen all the time. Everyone on that stage knows the risk and everyone close enough to it know the risk too. People get hurt at tournaments.”
“Not here. Not at SteelMania. Here, everyone goes home to their families alive.”
“But you can’t keep accidents from happening.”
“I’m the king, dammit, I can do whatever I want.”
“Something like this isn’t in your hands, Pops. You picked these fighters, or chose men you trusted to pick good fighters. Everyone who’s on that stage is a professional, or has been trained by a professional. They know the risks and how to minimize them. At some point, you’re gonna have to figure out how to trust the people near to you.”
King Vincent finally tore his eyes from the stage and looked to his young son. At some point in the last fifteen years, he’d grown into a fine young man. Wiser than he was given credit for. He’d make a fine king someday. All he had to do was learn a very important lesson.
“That’s where you’re wrong, Shane. Trust is the most dangerous weakness a king can have. The closest he can afford to come is lack of distrust. The only person you can place full trust in is your spouse, and even then, not unconditionally.”
Hearing his father’s words just made Shane’s heart sink.
“There’s no one here who you would trust?”
“Not a soul.”
“Even me?”
“Of everyone on the planet, you have the most to gain by wanting me dead or out of power. Only because you’ve done nothing to merit distrust am I allowing you to be here instead of back at the palace with your sister.”
So that was it. All the work he’d put in to making the match he was in charge of a success and a matter of pride for his father still wouldn’t get him the trust he wanted. Not even close. If this hadn’t worked, nothing would.
“Seems like a lonely existence,” he murmured, turning back to the door of the tent to watch the stage.
“You don’t become king in order to have friends, Shane. That’s not what you’re there for. As king, you rule over your people and you guide them. To have any more than an acquaintance is opening yourself up for the possibility of having your weaknesses exploited. You’re too kind for your own good, Shane. To be a good king, you will have to hide away that part of you. Showing that you feel anything besides calm is a weakness and I’m sorry I’ve shown it today.”
A lonely existence. Shane would never say so out loud, but he would never let that happen to him. Never relegate himself to barely trusting his spouse, believing the entire world is plotting against him. Never let his future sons believe he’d never have any pride in them. As a king, as a father and as a man, that was never who he’d let himself become.
He backed away from the tent flap where the match being concluded was determined a draw.
Bruno Sammartino, a former knight of Vincent the First had been invited to participate, but had politely declined, insisting he was too old, and volunteered his son, David, in his place. David had fought viciously, just as his father had trained him, but he was still a man who bled red just like any other. His opponent, a man by the name of Brutus Beefcake, had taken it upon himself to kick David into the corner post, where the wood opened a gash on his forehead, at the same moment that David had swiped a cut alongside Brutus’s inner elbow. Impossible to determine who had drawn the first blood. It had flowed in unison, so the arms of both men had been raised.
King Vincent hadn’t placed much stock in the matches that made up the middle of the day. The sun would be just overhead and many people wouldn’t be paying much attention in favour of having a light lunch instead. He still wanted excitement to be presented, but he wasn’t intending them to be as intense as the first and last matches. Give the audience a little time to cool down so that they wouldn’t wear themselves out completely before the final big matches. He hadn’t expected much from them, but the matches were still enjoyable.
True to his word of bringing in a man to compete, Lord Monsoon had brought a man by the name of Greg Valentine. A strong athlete, but when Lord Monsoon was told that Greg would be the villain in his match, he requested a favor of Lord Hart to accompany him to the ring in his stead. Though he’d been cheered against a number of times in his past, Lord Monsoon didn’t feel he could do it properly through words only. Action was where his strength in the dastardly lay. Lord Hart, on the other hand, was all too pleased to be able to be in the spotlight a second time. He took on the role of Greg’s villainous lord with ease. He might not have led Greg to victory, but judging by the ovation that his conqueuer, the Junkyard Dog, received, it was perhaps not the worst outcome.
That wasn’t to say every villain lost and every hero won. King Vincent hadn’t exactly planned the outcome of the final match of the three middle ones, but he did want it to go a specific way, so he’d requested Captain Albano to select two of his weaker fighters.
Lord Blassie, unable to decide which man he ought to bring to the tournament had driven up with two large, foreign men in tow. Initially, King Vincent had wanted each of them to have their own match. Upon learning that if such a thing happened, the tournament may go until dark, he took a day or two to riddle out what to do. The conclusion he eventually came to was a style of fighting that hadn’t been in style in a couple of years: the four-way battle. Two men on a respective two teams, but all fighting at once. If a man drew blood, both he and his partner would be the victors.
The style had gone out of fashion when the last war had broken out and spectators realized it was a very near replica of a wartime battle, which did nothing but bring up bad memories and open fresh wounds. Given that both of the men Lord Blassie had brought along were from across the eastern sea, an opportunity opened for a tiny war to occur upon the stage. Four men battling for the glory of their native kingdom. An opportunity to stir up great feelings of pride in the crowd, and an even better opportunity to get them angry and excited when their national heroes were defeated. After the comparatively dull middle three matches, King Vincent’s main concern was to amp up the crowd’s energy before the final three. The biggest three. The three that everyone had come to see that were unlike any kind of match they had ever witnessed before.
~
Unlike the other knights, Andre wasn’t watching the action on the stage through the flap in the tent. It wasn’t that he didn’t care, but that he didn’t feel like his time would be best spent watching fighting and only getting himself nervous. Nerves would serve him no purpose this afternoon. What would serve him purpose would be ensuring his sword was ready.
Sharpening his blade served Andre three purposes, as he counted them. Firstly, it ensured he had a razor-sharp blade to work with. They were the safest weapons one could wield. Drew blood nice and easily without having to pierce one’s opponent. He could just make a quick slice and everything would be over in a flash. A little unnecessary for his match, but he just had to knock Studd down; Andre figured it would be easier to knock the man down if he were to be bleeding profusely. Secondly, working on sharpening his sword occupied his hands and his mind. If he was counting strokes with the stone, he had no spare space in his attention to worry about anything or anyone. Thirdly, Andre knew exactly what he looked like. Even just sitting quietly and sharpening his sword, he posed an imposing figure. His deep focus had a tendency to unnerve people. When his primary focus was to achieve a psychological victory before he could achieve one on the battlefield, he’d already half won.
Andre was doing his best to count the ten strokes before flipping, but as he counted, his mind was wandering a little. Wandering to Studd, who’d elected to stay at the palace with Lord Heenan for as long as possible. He didn’t care much to sit in a tent for hours, so Lord Heenan instructed to send for them both when the match before them began.
They’d both finally arrived in the tent a few minutes before, sitting a couple benches away from Andre and very obviously continually sneaking glances his way. Andre struggled hard to keep his smirking to a minimum. If he already had his opponent mentally off-balance, the physical aspect wouldn’t be far behind. All he had to do was knock the man over. Easy as pie.
He’d been ever-so-slightly concerned when he had first seen Studd. Knowing Lord Heenan and his penchant for exaggeration, he’d never expected that Studd would actually be so close to his own height. Smaller around the middle, certainly, with a little more lean muscle, but suspiciously close to Andre’s height. His comfort came when he saw what weapon Studd intended to use. Not a greatsword like Andre’s, but still fairly large. Seeing such a small sword indicated two things to Andre: primarily that he intended to be quicker. He wanted to outmaneuver his opponent and make Andre seem like a clumsy, lumbering giant. Secondly, with that speed, he wanted to make Andre bleed. He wanted to cause a submission by begging for mercy.
He’d happily die before he begged for mercy.
Andre could nearly hear the interview going on on the stage, the crowd having become nearly dead silent in an attempt to hear and cling to every word. A match such as the one announced to them had never been done before. If Andre were to guess, the bulk of the audience’s savings all together would add up to about fifteen thousand. Seeing a man fight for such an amount was likely mind-boggling.
“Alright, we’re just moments away from the big one,” Gene began, his words falling out a bit quicker in his own excitement. “When I say big, the battle of the titans Big John Studd with fifteen thousand in gold, Lord Bobby Heenan, come on in. Andre the Giant, putting his entire career on the line.”
Neither Studd nor Lord Heenan were truly paying attention to Gene, far more concerned with the large burlap sack they were hoisting up the steps to the stage.
“This bag is heavy, man, this is what it was all about, fifteen thousand that we use for bait. John Studd, the only giant in the kingdom, seven foot plus, nearly 400lbs, that’s all in muscle. And this is what we wanted, to prove to the whole world that I am the giant. In a few short moments along with this fifteen thousand, you’re gonna see me on this stage and you’re gonna see a last match of Andre because he retires when he can’t do it.”
The clanging of coins as the bag was dropped down into the centre of the ring rang out over the audience, truly hitting home how much money was in the bag. Some onlookers may have been tempted to attempt a heist, but were deterred by the giant man with his hand around the tied opening of the sack. The closest who tried was Gene, whose hand was promptly slapped away by Lord Heenan. “Bobby Heenan, I’m just trying to touch the money here…”
“Keep your hands to yourself, pal. For fifteen thousand and a hair cut, we’re eliminating Andre the Giant from his knighthood. Oh yeah, a lot of glad handers around here today…” he commented, smacking Gene’s hand away a second time. “Only two people are gonna see this money; that’s Studd and myself. But not the Giant. He’s retired. He’s done.”
That was it.
Andre stood at the words and pushed his way to the front of the tent, making his way up to the stage.
Given that he occasionally struggled in English, even when he wasn’t under pressure, it had been agreed that it might be more beneficial to Andre as a story to not speak to the audience. He would let his actions do the talking for him.
The relative quiet that had befallen the audience during Studd’s interview was rapidly overtaken by a shrieking din as Andre made his way through the crowd. In addition to his lesser capabilities in English, it had been decided by King Vincent that Andre didn’t need an interview. He was one of the most-known knights in the country. Less because of his skill on the stage and more because of just how widely he traveled in his youth. As a large man with superb skill in the greatsword, he had the ability to draw crowds just about anywhere he went for a tournament. Even if this crowd had come from all over, there was a good chance they knew Andre.
His reveling in their cheers was unfortunately short-lived. The instant the bell was rung, Studd ran at Andre, backing him into a corner seemingly immediately. His psychological advantage allowed Studd the opportunity to test the durability of Andre’s armor, slashing across the chest, then across the back. No cuts made yet, but Andre had the sneaking suspicion that one or both of them would be bleeding before the match was over. He had fifteen minutes and had to use each and every one of them to their full advantage with nothing less than his complete focus.
Using that focus was what made him able to swing at Studd in return. Three more followed, each pushing Studd a little closer away and allowing Andre to make his way out of the corner. He finalized his minor bout of assault with a head butt, finally ensuring they were both in the center of the ring. No corners and no trickery.
Head spinning slightly, Studd made his way out of the ring. He needed to walk off the blow. Besides, this would kill some of the time Andre had and waste it. All he had to do was to not get knocked down for fifteen minutes. Not a big deal.
The only problem was that with each step he took outside of the ring, Andre only seemed to be getting angrier and more frustrated. With another knight, this would be good. Blinded by rage opened the opportunity for far too many mistakes. With a normal knight as his opponent, this would be brilliant strategy. In Andre, rage and frustration only helped him become more focused. Mind clear of anything and everything except enacting revenge upon those who had wronged him.
It was why the instant Studd stepped back onto the ring, Andre had him shoved up against the ropes. It could have probably been easy to grasp Studd around the neck and throw him with all of his might to the ground. An easy victory. The unfortunate situation at hand was that Andre wanted to hurt Studd. He knew he could win; bet his career on it, after all. The audience was likely just as certain. That didn’t keep them from needing a little bit of drama in the match. It was one of the biggest ones of the day, after all. Many people had likely come to the tournament to witness this particular feat of strength and power. Andre wasn’t about to make them feel like their time had been wasted coming all this way. A far more fun method of madness was to continue taking swings at Studd until his chainmail broke, or he fell, whichever happened to come first.
In actuality, what came first was Andre growing bored of torturing the man with consistent blows of sword against ribs. They’d likely already be cracked, if not, broken. It might be advisable to ensure at least cracked ribs to keep Studd from being able to take in a proper deep breath, removing a good bit of his strength.
Andre’s strategy of rib-cracking involved not his sword, but the rest of his body. Dropping it and instead grasping the ropes to steady himself as he pushed Studd between his back and the post keeping the ropes into place. 500lbs being pushed against him with a giant’s force. Still feeling Studd able to breathe, Andre let go of the pressure slightly before ramming backwards, hitting Studd’s spine on the rough wooden post. A second time. The little gasp of pain punctuated with labored breathing finally evoked a little mercy from Andre. Or he simply didn’t want to leave his sword laying around for too long. Doing so felt like a foolish move that he wasn’t quite willing to risk.
As he bent over to retrieve it, Studd gained enough of his air back to attempt a kick at the back of Andre’s legs, not quite having the strength to raise his arms for a proper swing. He needed to build it up for the proper swing that came when Andre stood at his highest, giving Studd an opportunity to knock him down. He’d gain no victory over knocking Andre down, but Studd didn’t exactly have high hopes of doing so.
Lord Heenan had made a habit of exaggerating a little bit of everything in his life. While it was true that Studd had never been knocked down in a tournament, it wasn’t exactly true that he’d never been knocked down in his life. A handful of occasions had resulted in exactly that. And it was always against smaller opponents. Until he saw Andre for the first time, Studd had never met a man even close to his own height and weight. Seeing someone who made him feel small was a new feeling, and one Studd certainly didn’t take kindly to. He wasn’t going to win anything by knocking Andre down, but he may gain something; the psychological advantage. If Andre knew that he could be knocked down by a smaller opponent, he may begin second-guessing his own size and strength which, if used properly, could allow Studd to avoid any attack that came his way with quicker defense.
His attempt at a knockdown was rebuffed with a swift and vicious knee to the ribs and a following slash across the chest. Studd heard the tell-tale falling of cut-apart chain links to the ground and felt something warm begin spreading across his chest. He counted himself lucky that it wasn’t much more than a long papercut that had narrowly avoided the two points of his chest he deeply preferred to not ever have near any kind of blade.
The distraction caused by the falling blood gave Andre the opportunity to wrap his arms around Studd’s middle, crushing his ribs further and putting deeply uncomfortable pressure against the cut.
This was it; the end. End of the match. Andre would toss him in a victorious heap and then probably place one of his far-too-large boots on Studd’s chest and squish the last remaining life out of him. Studd’s only hope was to reach out and grasp one of the ropes as tightly as he could. Each one of them was secured firmly to the post, which went all the way down through the stage. Without the proper leverage, Andre was only able to lift Studd a foot or two off the stage. He managed it a couple of times, but was foiled each time by Studd’s backwards grip, completely unreachable from Andre’s position. The broad chests and middles of both men made it impossible for Andre to keep his steady hold and break Studd’s grip at the same time.
Studd began getting a little bit risky, using on hand to push against Andre’s forehead, trying anything he could to break the hold before the pain of his ribs knocked him out completely. The best he could do was jabbing the back end of his sword between Andre’s eyes, which not only successfully broke the hold, but made Andre back away just enough to give Studd room to breathe. He just wanted, needed to get away for a moment or two to catch his breath. All he got was a vicious slash across the back.
Every time Andre swung that massive sword, Studd’s heart began to race. Swords like that were usually used in wartime by only the largest and the strongest of knights with the design of slicing a man clear in two in any direction. Most common was the removal of the head, which would certainly cause Studd to be knocked down, but he’d also heard of splitting the head in two or removing the torso from the legs. The fact that he was only being scratched with such a weapon meant Andre was far more skilled and precise than he seemed to be at first glance.
Studd only got the chance to lean against the opposite post for a moment before he felt Andre’s presence mere inches behind him. He attempted a backwards elbow strike, but upon hitting nothing but air, realized his moments of advantage were through as Andre re-captured him once again, but from behind. Without being able to capture a full breath of air for so long, Studd’s grip on the ropes wasn’t nearly as strong, nor was he able to squirm as much. Just enough squirming to annoy Andre into giving him a hard shove back into the corner.
The match was going to end soon; Studd could feel it. He was staying on his feet well, but it was annoying Andre beyond anything else. The strikes would only get harder and more vicious until he did eventually fall.
Wonder how much time is left…
The world was getting more and more blurry until Studd’s tunnel vision only allowed him to see Andre and the glint from his armor battering Studd’s body. He knew Lord Heenan had to be yelling at him to pick up his arms, to use his sword, to do something, but Studd simply couldn’t. The strength was fading fast.
Andre pulled him away from the ropes viciously, knocking Studd down to one knee. The jumbled voices of the crowd only grew louder. To Studd’s knowledge, he had to be knocked down to his back. One knee, and even two knees didn’t count. Knowing that encouraged him to stand once more with a groan. Remaining steady on his feet didn’t stay long as Andre threw him against the ropes, seemingly hoping to knock him down when Studd inevitably bounced back against his sword. The only defense he could think of was to stop short and try to kick Andre over, which was intercepted when Andre grabbed Studd’s ankle with his free hand.
This had to be it; it had to be the end. Andre had his leg. He had no stable footing anymore. Lifting his leg any higher would make him fall.
“Please,” was all he could whisper above the din, hands held up a few inches in what probably appeared to the audience as either surrender or begging for mercy. “Please not like this.”
Having a mistake be exploited couldn’t be his downfall. It wasn’t allowed to be. Lord Heenan would fire him for sure if Studd was knocked over and lost him fifteen thousand because of a snap error in judgment. Where would he find other employment? Who would hire the man who lost his employer fifteen thousand for trying to kick a man during competition as his only defense when his sole objective was to not fall down for fifteen minutes?
Andre wasn’t a particularly merciful man during tournaments. He fought to win and nothing less. But pity had to be taken on the man so desperate that he begged during a match. It wasn’t as if he was fighting the inevitable, only prolonging it. He wanted to lose honorably, which Andre could respect.
Instead of tossing Studd’s ankle upwards, he slammed it down to the stage and sliced across Studd’s chest again before attacking the same leg a second time.
His knee was going to give him troubles, Studd was certain. Two kicks to the same knee that brought him down on two separate occasions was heavily going to impede his ability for speed. Given that it was his sole advantage, Studd almost felt angry at himself for having not anticipated it. Of course Andre would try to keep him stationary. Stationary fighting was where he excelled. Playing on Andre’s home field, so to speak. As if to drive the point home, Andre kicked the leg once more as Studd attempted rising to his feet.
A couple more slices across the chest made the world feel even woozier and spinnier than it already had. He was losing a lot of blood as he stumbled to the corner where Lord Heenan had been shouting at him. Studd was pretty sure he was being shouted at from that corner, anyway.
“Need help,” he mumbled.
“What kind of help?”
“Medical.”
He couldn’t say more before Andre gave him another kick to the back of the leg. A second. A third. A fourth.
The sun is so bright today…
A final blow across the chest knocked Studd down to his back hard.
He didn’t move after that. Didn’t want to move. Everything in the world felt so bright and he just knew he was gonna fall asleep really soon. He just hoped he’d fought hard enough for Lord Heenan not to fire him.
The bag of coins was passed over top of him into Andre’s free hand. The greatsword clattered down beside Studd and Andre reached into the bag, letting the coins fall through his fingers experimentally.
Growing up in the mountains, Andre didn’t get to see much money. Most of what his village bartered with were goods and services. For many, that was more than enough. Once he’d begun participating in tournaments on this side of the eastern sea, he’d come to learn that money was easy to come by, and things he used to do in exchange for a goat, he would now be paid in coins. 10 coins would pay him to harvest a field. It only cost five coins to buy a goat. As a result, he very quickly had more money than he knew what to do with. He didn’t need these riches. They would be far better served being distributed to the people who had come to show their support for their kingdom.
Andre grabbed small handfuls of coins and began tossing them out to the crowd. Small handfuls only so he wouldn’t injure anyone too badly. The cheers only grew louder as he circled the stage, tossing out the coins. He’d been so caught up in enjoying the adoration that he didn’t even notice when Lord Heenan snuck up behind him and snatched the bag from his hand, quickly scuttling out of the ring and back towards the palace, leaving Studd bleeding on his back.
Minutes ago, Studd had been one of the least defeated knights in the kingdom. Never knocked over, hardly a scar on his body. Now, the man he had sacrificed his body for was running away with the money he’d lost, considering the remaining thousands over the life of his knight.
The sun sure is bright today...

Thoughts on Leona Kingscholar? And Ruggie? I like them both! Especially that feral little gremlin!
That's all the damn warning you get, Anon. You just opened a can of worms that you had no idea about.
ALSO, FOR THE REST OF YOU THERE'S GONNA BE FUCKING SPOILERS- LIKE, B I G T I M E SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 2 AND RUGGIE'S B-DAY-
So, pls watch yourself UwU
Ok, so, confession time: Ruggie is hands down one of my favorite boys. He is my bread and butter- my cinnamon apple, if you will. I just- ABSOLUTELY L O V E HIM.
If he told me to walk of a cliff, I'd do it. He'd just have to ask me- he wouldn't even have to use Laugh with Me on me. I'd just- fucking- Y E E T myself,
And now that I know about Rug's backstory??? Like??? Oml, Granny, I'll kill for you too, you beautiful woman. Also I relate a bit too hard to Rug growing up in poverty. Like, can understand why he's such a sneaky bitch. It's hard when you don't know when your next meal is coming. Also he's a genuinely sweet guy?? Like, once you get past the trust issues and shit- like, what a baby I just-
I love him.
Easy. Simple. Ruggie Bucchi??? Absolutely adore- he's my discord icon. The first character I saw from this game.
And then we get to the fucking main show: Leona fucking Kingscholar himself.
I am about to make a lot of people either very pissed off or very emotional and either way, I'm just gonna fucking dump out EVERYTHING. So, sorry in advance.
So, I can write a 50 page essay on why this motherfucker pisses me off. MLA format with references.
The sheer audacity of this fucking man infuriates the shit out of me and I think the main reason is how the hell they presented his backstory. Because, on one hand: it is absolute shit he was pushed to the side and treated as second best compared to his older brother; on the other hand, the only glimpse we see of this is the servants whispering about him (which, again, that fucking sucks and they had NO right) when he was younger and then we immediately are presented with Ferena actually fucking being concerned about him after he wasn't at the party. Did he come in a little aggressive? Sure. But immediately after that he tries to talk to Leona and gets shut down, which, I understand has to do with his inferiority complex but the sheer audacity of this man- I fucking- he's presented to have this damn support system and yet he's too prideful to take it.
If we're supposed to feel sympathy (aside from our own experiences, because I know a very dear friend of mine who adores him and understands where he's coming from, so no- no shame in genuinely liking him- I just want to beat him up because he's such a dick), they royally fucked it up.
AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED IN HOW HE MANIPULATED ALL OF SAVANACLAW, TRIED TO FUCKING COMMIT MURDER ON A WHOLE OTHER DORM AND RUGGIE- LIKE, Y'ALL, HOW DO WE JUST GLOSS OVER THAT SHIT??? HE FUCKING TRIED MURDERING PEOPLE LIKE- Look, LeLe, I know you're angry about losing to Daisomnia all the time, but, man, fuck you. You're an absolute cock sucker and you do deserve to get punched and I will never forgive you for trying to turn fucking Ruggie into dust after you ripped away all the hope you gave to your entire dorm-
OH MY GOD-
MOTHER-
FUCKING-
ANOTHER REASON LEONA PISSES ME RIGHT THE FUCK OFF. HE'S RIDING HIS FUCKING PITY DICK SO FUCKING HARD THAT HE CAN'T EVEN SEE THE FACT THAT ALL THESE PEOPLE LOOK UP TO HIM. LIKE, FUCKING, GET OVER YOURSELF, YOU RICH FUCKING BITCH. YOU'RE THE FIRST ONE GOING DOWN WHEN I FUCKING FINALLY HAVE THE POWER TO STRANGLE THE RICH. LIKE, HE'S SUCH A BIG IMPACT ON PEOPLE, IN A GOOD WAY, BUT ALL HE DOES IS GO 'oh, boo-hoo, woe is me- woe is me-' LIKE-
SHUT UP.
SHUT UP.
YOU KNOW WHO SHOULD BE FUCKING SOBBING??? RUGGIE. RUGGIE DESERVED TO OVERBLOT. NOT YOU. THAT FUCKING BOY FUCKING PULLED MOST OF THE DAMN WEIGHT IN YOUR PLAN ALL BECAUSE HE THOUGHT YOU WERE IN THE RIGHT. YOU ABSOLUTE FUCK WAD. HE WANTED GOOD THINGS FOR HIS DORM AND YOU ABSOLUTELY WRECKED IT.
LILIA DESERVED TO SHIT ON YOU EVEN FUCKING HARDER. FUCKING PISS BABY. FUCK YOU. BASTARD. UGUGUGHDHGHGHGDJL
AND THEN- HE HAS THE FUCKING AUDACITY TO BE LIKE: "I'll do this again next year!" LIKE
BITCH
WHO IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?? I'LL FUCKING BREAK EVERY BONE IN YOUR LEGS, I JUST- RRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHGHGHSDLKJFLKSDJFKLSDJFLKSDJF:LSDFJ
Off of that note, I am very proud of him in the third chapter for having a teaspoon of character growth and actually feeling guilty for what he did to Ruggie. Very proud of him there. NOW IF HE'D JUST GET OFF OF THE PITY TRAIN THAT'S BE FUCKING *chef's kiss* IMMACULATE.
Also, sorry, I am in firm belief that he is one of the people that has a canonical crush on MC and no, you can't convince me otherwise. Him, Floyd and Riddle. Those three so far. Absolutely am convinced. You can also argue Jack, he's so soft with us, but, I digress.
SO, TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, DEAR:
I adore Ruggie and Leona, despite the fact he can go fuck himself- I do very much care for him and had a heart attack during the Camp event when he got kidnapped and I almost fucking cried. So, like, it's straight up an issue of me being the only person allowed to murder him, but I haven't decided when he dies- he's the Megatron to my Optimus Prime. You know, without all of the... tyrannical murder sjkdsflj;sd
Anyway, enjoy y'all's day- Leona stans, I do love you. But y'all got shit taste and I think I should say it (jk, but I will fight your husband istg)
#answered!#thank you dear#not a reblog#sorry about going off#I just have a lot of emotions about Leona#And that's not even half of it tbh#But for the sake of not drowning you#I will leave it here#I hope you enjoyed me losing my shit#tw: cussing#tw: violence#Idk if I should tag the characters???#I guess since this is very centered around them sfdjlksdfj#ruggie bucchi#leona kingscholar

I’ve been reading Is This the Real Life: the Untold Story of Queen and some things in this...
-Brian and Roger got into it after a show one time and Roger just went in with hairspray in Bri’s face
-Freddie met with a group of people in tight satin pants and couldn’t sit down so he looked around and tried to not attract attention to himself while undoing them
-Freddie was also so exhausted during their US tour at one point he just completely passed out, face in his breakfast
-Roger chose the shirt Fred wanted to wear for their first Rainbow show so he stormed off during soundcheck and brian begged for him to come back
-Also during their first US tour, Brian got himself a love affair in New Orleans and had to be rushed back to the UK after waking up in New York with full blown hepatitis due to a vaccine he received earlier in the year.. Freddie got herpes apparently? Icons.
-Freddie kept up with visiting Brian in the hospital while they worked on Sheer Heart Attack since homeboy had an operation after he was cleared for his hepatitis bed rest then had an ulcer shortly after.
-Roger didn’t like his hair in the cover photo for Sheer Heart Attack so they added extensions in the final photo.
-Years after them leaving Trident, John was met with a former employee who recognized him at an airport and just completely shut him down. We love a king who knows his worth.
Edit #1 since I’ve read a bit more...
-Brian would somewhat irritate the person making coffee and tea. “...and then I’d ask Brian what he wanted. Then there’d be this pause and then he’d ask ‘How many teas are you making? How many coffees?...Two?...Three? Is it easier for you to make another coffee or another tea?’ You could spend 10 minutes just doing this. He was trying to make it easier for me, but in the end I’d be like, ‘Brian! Just tell me what you want!’”
-Bri thought Death on Two Legs was too mean and felt bad singing it.
-Freddie shutting down homophobes in the audience by shining the spot light on them and asking them to repeat what they said.
-Freddie didn’t believe the gold disc for a Night at the Opera was the album so he broke it open to play it and it was indeed their album. He was suspicious of EMI after everything at Trident which, I mean, valid.
-Mary out here recognizing her and Fred’s relationship was crumbling, accepted it and hugged him when he came out. We love a good support system.
-When in Australia, they had to go on foot to their venue due to a festival taking place. No cars could pass. But Freddie being extra, he was driven through in a limo while drinking champagne.
Edit #2
-Fred was being driven to the studio and they crashed so he went to a nearby house to use their phone...in a silk kimono with Queen written on the back...almost dressed in full stage attire. They let him in, made him tea and chatted.
-During their show at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Brian’s amp exploded and he ran over to tell Freddie but it was in his mic pretty much so everyone heard him panicing. Fred waved Bri away saying “Oh, just jump around a bit and the silly bastards won’t know the difference!”
-If Fred walked somewhere, a car would follow him with the door open in case he got tired. This boy is so extra I swear to god....
-I ALMOST FORGOT!! They had clocks as promo items for News of the World and they sounded kind of fancy so I looked it up and.....
Bitch...I low-key want one.
Edit #3
-That feeling when Roger could not confirm but didn’t doubt there being dwarves with cocaine at the Jazz debut party.
-In Munich recording the Game, the boys would split off to do their own thing after recording for the day. Freddie would explore the gay club scene while the others got drinks, dinner and a club then would meet back up with Freddie at the hotel. Taylor’s suite (not sure if it’s Roger or Crystal tbh) was the HH....the hetero hangout and Freddie’s was the PPP...the Presidential Pouff Parlour.
-John was nicknamed Ostrich because ‘He’s was like a bird who stays quiet until it finally lays a perfect egg.’ Kinda wish there was more about John in this book tbh
-the author really out here typing Deakey....unbelievable. Either Deacy or Deaky, binch. Come on.
-According to Crystal, Roger had his drum case be a close up of his face in case he had amnesia and needed to know what he looked like but we all know the truth, Rog 👀
-During a late night drinking sesh, one of the crew put on the Flash Gordon soundtrack and John, shit faced, asked who it was.
Edit #4
-Apprently Cool Cat was the first song written for/on Hot Space and Brian wasn’t a huge fan of it or Back Chat because it wasn’t heavy enough. Adding onto that, Staying Power and Body Language were thought to be too gay and Bri wanted things to be for everyone of different persuasions. Brian....let the gays have something.
-With the Works and Hot Space being my top two Queen albums...I was disappointed how much was just blown over with the recording process tbh.
-Paul Prenter was a massive cunt but everyone knows that.
-John was busted after a Phil Collins concert because he was drunk driving. He was driving his new Porsche but then got his license suspended for a year. Brian was a guest DJ for a radio show where he played Stevie Wonder’s Don’t Drive Drunk and dedicated the song to “John, whom some of you may know has had a little problem with his car recently.’
-Freddie’s pick up line for Jim was ‘how big is your dick’....I mean, in a way, it worked??? Iconic.
-Roger owned up to having their sound guy set false sound limits for the groups before them during Live Aid so when Queen went on, they were the loudest.
Edit #5, the last one since I finished the book
-Paul Prenter should have had someone kick him in the shins tbh fuck that guy
-Brian met Anita through a Eastenders event and he was gushing about how much he loved the show since Chrissie had him watch it then invited her to Wembley which she turned him down.
-Also fast forward to the later half of the 90′s, Anita helped Brian get into therapy for his depression and other emotional matters. We love a supportive queen.
-When the book finally talks more about John and it’s him saying the We Will Rock You musical sucked and he having an affair with a 25 year old erotic dancer like come on my dude....why couldn’t I be her??? But for real, I looked into it and found an article and wowza. When sd!Deaky be an actual thing????
-The press’ harassment of Freddie and his inner circle during his last years is absolutely horrendous to read about tbh. I think it was Roger (feel free to correct me on that if I’m wrong) who crashed his car because the camera flashes temporarily blinded him when he was trying to visit Freddie.
-Also Freddie was able to see the Bohemian Rhapsody clip from Wanye’s World since Mike Myers sent him a tape. Bri and Fred watched it and according to Brian, Freddie loved it and sent his seal of approval.
There’s the things I found interesting reading this biography. If you’ve read it or have any other fun facts, add them on my dudes!
#queen#queen band#roger taylor#john deacon#freddie mercury#brian may#damn this post got a bit long huh

You'll get all da hugs you want 🥺
And no! You're the cute one :3
I'm the type of anon that likes to ask the user questions so they could be included in these 🥺
Speaking of—I've been reading a lot of dad!gojo and I'm going soft. And at the same time I think Itadori and Inumaki would be wonderful parents ☺️
Sooooo.... who is your favorite character and who do you think would be the best parent (students can be a choice cause... y'know, age-up 😂)
🌸Anon
pls - this pandemic is making me touch starved 😔✌️ all i want are hugs
but you’re honestly so sweet, like nga - am happy that you stumbled upon my page and graced me with your kindness ✨
and honestly? gojo as a sad sounds chaotic as hell, but i would love to see it lmao. feels like he’s gonna be liam hemsworth kinda dad - grabbing his kids by the ankles and carrying them like they are a bag of potatoes lmao.
Itadori would lowkey be a really good dad - like I can see him bonding with them over sports, or keeping them company no matter the activity. He’d never miss any performances or important dates, and have SD cards of all of the videos of different events.
Idk why, but I see Inumaki as my little baby that him having a baby is such a jarring thing to me lmao???? Lowkey tho I feel like he’s gonna be the dad who just showers his kids in love and affection, and even though he’s not necessarily the best when it comes to socialising because of his curse, he makes sure his kid(s) know they are loved. I wouldn’t be surprised if he plans an entire trip to another part of Japan that snows so the little one can just play in the snow, or you’d come home one day to them cuddling while watching a movie together.
My favourite characters are probably Megumi or Maki?? Mainly cause they are both so underrated and are badasses. Like I feel like the fandom mainly focuses on Gojo and Sukuna, and our little shadow boi is under the radar a little. Also Maki cause hello - she can literally glance at me and I will combust.
But with that said tho, still think Itadori will be the best parent - just feel like out of all the characters, he’ll be the best parent.
Love you a lot mah queen, muah~

Hi Ryo why is it that you don't call the others senpai like you call Seiichiro? :)
Ryo: Because Senpai is Senpai? I guess if you want an explanation, I value my friendships with everyone, but I look up to Senpai a bit more because he is the oldest of us and has always been there for me.
